What is happening?

THE CITY OF EDINBURGH COUNCIL

(TRAFFIC REGULATION: RESTRICTIONS ON WAITING, LOADING AND UNLOADING, STOPPING AND PARKING PLACES) (VARIATION NO. _) ORDER 202_” - TRO/24/30

The Council proposes to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended to:

  1. Introduce Priority Parking Area B11, which includes permit holder parking places, that operate 12.30pm to 2.00pm, Mon to Fri on Colinton Gro, Colinton Gro W, Colinton Rd, Craiglockhart Rd Nth, Craiglockhart Vw, Lockharton Ave, Lockharton Cres & Lockharton Gdns;
  2. Introduce waiting restrictions that operate at any time on Colinton Gro, Colinton Gro W, Lockharton Ave, Lockharton Cres & Lockharton Gdns;
  3. Extend waiting restrictions that operate at any time on Colinton Rd;
  4. Introduce disabled bays that operate at any time on Colinton Gro & Lockharton Ave;
  5. Remove a disabled bay that operates at any time on Colinton Rd that is no longer required;
  6. Amend the size & position of a disabled bay that operates at any time on Colinton Rd;
  7. Introduce limited waiting parking places that operate 8.30am to 5.30pm, Mon to Fri with a maximum stay of 3hrs & a no return period of 1hr on Lockharton Cres;
  8. Amend the size & position of limited waiting parking places that currently operate 8.00am to 6pm Mon to Fri & 8.00am to 1.30pm Sat with a maximum stay of 30min & a no return period of 30min, & alter the operating hours to 08.30am to 5.30pm Mon to Fri with a maximum stay of 2hrs & a no return period of 1hr on Colinton Rd; &
  9. The cost of a resident’s parking permit for use in the permit holder parking places described in item 1 will be as follows. Vehicles registered prior to March 2001 will have charges applied in relation to engine size. Vehicles registered after March 2001 will have charges applied in relation to CO2 emissions.

Documents can also be viewed at Waverley Court Reception, 4 East Market St, Edinburgh, EH8 8BG between 9:30am & 3:30pm Mon-Fri during the same period. Objectors must complete the form found via the “Proposals in consultation” link referred to above, or state their reasons in writing quoting reference TRO/24/30 to Traffic Orders at the above address, not later than 05/12/25. Objections should state the name and address of the objector. If you are responding to this consultation and your comments or objection relate to any specific location/s or element/s of the proposal, it would be helpful if you could identify them in your submission.
