ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

The East Sussex (Public Footpath Seaford 23c, Seaford 23d (part), Seaford 26a (part), Seaford 26b)

(Temporary Footpath Closure) Order 2025

To protect public safety as a result of coastal erosion, the Secretary of State has extended the above East Sussex County Council’s Order made on 9 May 2025 under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following footpaths:

Temporary Footpath Closure

The whole of Public Footpath Seaford 23c will be closed to all users between TV 5135 9765 and TV 5147 9770. Part of Public Footpath Seaford 23d will be closed to all users between TV 5147 9770 and TV 5147 9772 for a distance of 20 metres.

Part of Public Footpath Seaford 26a will be closed to all users between TV 5146 9772 and TV 5147 9770 for a distance of 16 metres.

The whole of Public Footpath Seaford 26b will be closed to all users between TV 5147 9770 and TV 5148 9767. An alternative route will be available by using the England Coast Path.

The closure will be in force for 18 months from 19 November 2025, or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier, which after this period will require an extension from the Secretary of State, should the footpaths still be unavailable to use. The East Sussex (U7921 Dads Hill, Heathfield)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025 No.2

To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Dads Hill – from the junction with B2102 High Street to the junction with A267 Mayfield Road. A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A267 Mayfield Road – B2102 High Street and vice versa.

The Order commences 4 December 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 4 December 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (A272 Budletts Lane, Uckfield)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Budletts Lane – from the junction with A272 London Road to the junction with U7118 Five Ash Down. A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U7118 Five Ash Down – A26 Mill Pond Road – A272 London Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 28 November 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 28 November 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U7516 New Road, Uckfield)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

New Road – from the junction with C58 Lewes Road to the junction with C26 Eastbourne Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C58 Lewes Road – C26 Eastbourne Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 2 December 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 2 and 4 December 2025 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (U7072 Old Road, Herstmonceux/Hailsham)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Old Road – from the junction with A271 New Road to the junction with U7073 Squab Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U7072 Old Road – A271 New Road and vice versa. The Order commences 1 December 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken as detailed below depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (B2109 Avis Road, Newhaven)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Avis Road – from the junction with A26 New Road Industrial Area to the junction with U5777 Iveagh Crescent. A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2109 Avis Road – A259 Denton roundabout, The Drove, B&Q roundabout, Drove Road – A26 New Road Industrial Area – A26(T) New Road Industrial Area and vice versa.

The Order commences 1 December 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 1 and 3 December 2025 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (U5107 Evelyn Road, Lewes)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Evelyn Road – from the junction with U5107 Horsfield Road to the junction with U5107 Lee Road. A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U5107 Lee Road, Eridge Green, Horsfield Road and vice versa.

The Order commenced 2 September 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 19 November 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U7573 Argos Hill Road, Mayfield)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025 No.2

To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Argos Hill Road – from the junction with C12 Five Ashes Road to the junction with B2101 Bicycle Arms Road. A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U7572 Argos Hill Lane – B2101 Bicycle Arms Road, High Cross – C12 Cottage Hill, Five Ashes Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 18 November 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 18 and 19 November 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U7650 Mill Lane, Fletching)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Mill Lane – from the junction with C321 Newick Hill to the junction with C206 High Street.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C206 High Street, North Hall Lane – A275 Sheffield Park, East Grinstead Road – C321 Lane End Common, Fletching Lane and vice versa.

The Order commences 18 November 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 18 November 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (A295 High Street, Hailsham)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025 No.2

To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

High Street – from the junction with U7208 Vicarage Lane to the junction with C718 Market Square. A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U7208 Vicarage Lane, Vicarage Road – C718 Market Square.

The Order commences 18 November 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 20:00hrs to 06:00hrs between 18 and 20 November 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C407 Spout Hill/Town Row Green, Rotherfield)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Spout Hill/Town Row Green – from the junction with C407 Cowford Bridge Lane to the junction with B2100 Catts Hill. A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2100 Catts Hill – A267 Tunbridge Wells Road, Mayfield Road, Frant Green Road, Frant Road – C70 Bunny Lane – A26 Eridge Road – C12 Sham Farm Road,

Blackdon Hill – C407 Cowford Bridge Lane and vice versa.

The Order commences 17 November 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 17 and 18 November 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (B2123 The Drove, Village Way, Ridge Road, Park Street, Park Street North, South Street, East Street, Middle Street and Mill Street, Falmer)

(Prohibition of Waiting and Prohibition of Driving) Traffic Regulation Order 2013

The following additional/amended fixture times below will have the above Order restrictions imposed on the roads as listed from 4 hours before the commencement of the event held at The American Express Community Stadium until up to 2 hours after the event has finished; Park Street, South Street, East Street (Falmer Village South) in their entirety; Mill Street, Park Street North, Middle Street (Falmer Village North) in their entirety; and Ridge Road (Falmer Village North) from its junction with Middle Street in a northerly direction for a distance of 120 metres to its junction with Mill Street.
