Mill Lane, Kirkby in Ashfield - Temporary Prohibition of Driving to Enable via East Midlands to Complete Drainage and Embankment Works
What is happening?
THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(MILL LANE, KIRKBY IN ASHFIELD) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2025 (A25-174)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council has made an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Kirkby in Ashfield in the District of Ashfield
The effects of the Order will be:
1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road
a. Mill Lane, Kirkby in Ashfield - From a point 175 metres from its junction with Main Road for a distance of 650 metres in a north westerly direction
1. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.
2. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.
IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows: From 08:00, Monday 17th November 2025 Until 17:00, Friday 5th December 2025 inclusive.
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be: Nuncargate Road - Kingsway - Station Street - Victoria Road - Chapel Street - Church Street - Church Hill - Laburnum Avenue and vice versa
The Order will come into force on Monday 17th November 2025 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).
