Essex, Multiple Temporary Road Closures & Parking Restrictions Due To Various Works
What is happening?
ESSEX COUNTY COUNCIL
(Footpath 91, Braintree) (Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close Footpath 91, in the District of Braintree from a point approximately 80 metres east of its junction with Footpath 67, for east for approximately 100 metres.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 25th November 2025 to 25th May 2026 or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while a retaining wall is installed.
Alternative Route via: Footpath 91, Footpath 60, Rayne Road, Footpath 67 and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 25 November 2025 and may continue in force for 6 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(East Street, Braintree and Bocking) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of East Street, Braintree and Bocking in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Manor Street to its junction with Coggeshall Road a distance of approximately 330m.
The scheduled dates for the closure are 11th December 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2387790 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on site.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway repair works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via: Manor Street, Albert Road, Coggeshall Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 20th November 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Moat Road, Stisted & Moat Farm Road/Plaistow Green, Greenstead Green) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Moat Road, Stisted & Moat Farm Road/Plaistow Green, Greenstead Green in the District of Braintree, from the junction of Keerant Lane to the junction of Plaistow Green Road a distance of approximately 2300m.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 10th December 2025 for 10 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2390952 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on site, network.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via: Folly Green, Tumblers Green, Brook Farm Road, Stisted Road, Grange Hill, Ravens Hall Road, Gladen Hall Road, Letches Lane, Plaistow Green Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 20th November 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Various Roads, District of Braintree) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) (No.17) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order
:- To temporarily close those lengths of road in the District of Braintree as specified in the Schedule.
- A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above lengths of road for the duration of the closure to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.
"The Essex County Council (Braintree District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019"
will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 20th November 2025 exact dates will be specified on One.Network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public.
Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each when and residents and businesses will be informed of these phases via a letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road.

that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Old Road, Feering in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 555m south east then south of its junction with Langley Green for a distance of approximately 30m in a southerly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 25th November 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (AD03062964783 – Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while meter maintenance works are undertaken by Anglian Water.
An alternative route is available via: Wills Green, Coggeshall Road, Skye Green Road, and vice versa. (with access only into Old Road).
The Order came into effect on 6th November 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Various Roads, District of Braintree) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) (SW3) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order
:- To temporarily close those lengths of road in the District of Braintree as specified in the Schedule.
The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 6th November 2025 exact dates will be specified on One.Network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public.
Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road.
The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while micro ducting works are undertaken by Gigaclear.
The Order came into effect on 6th November 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.Effect of the order
:- To temporarily close those lengths of road in the District of Braintree as specified in the Schedule.
