(Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2025
NOTICE is hereby given that not less than 7 days from the date of the Notice WSCC intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to:
(i) prohibit any vehicles from driving at a speed exceeding
40MPH on the section of Horsham Road between Peppersgate and Thornden; and
(ii) prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along Picts Lane at the junction with Horsham Road.
The Order is necessary to protect public safety whilst surface water pipe, gullies and connections works are undertaken.
The Order came into effect on 1 December 2025 and will last for 18 months or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier. The temporary speed limit is expected to be in place from 1 December 2025 until 16 December 2025. The road closure is expected to be in place from 12 January 2026 until 30 January 2026.

(30 MPH, 40 MPH And 50 MPH Speed Limit)
(Consolidation) Order 202*
NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC proposes to make a permanent Traffic regulation Order under the provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to introduce:-
(i) a 30MPH speed limit on the A24 Washington Roundabout, on sections of the approach arms on the A24, on the A283 The Pike and Storrington Road and on Sandhill Lane; and
(ii) a 50MPH speed limit on a 400M length of the A24 dual carriageway northbound and southbound approaches to Washington Roundabout junction.
The consultation for this proposal will start on 13 November 2025 and, AT THAT TIME, full details of the proposals in this Notice can be viewed on our website www.westsussex.gov.uk/tro. The website includes a response form for comments or objections. Paper copies of documents will not be available to view in council offices or libraries. People without access to a computer who wish to view details of the scheme should telephone the WSCC Contact Centre on 01243 642105 to receive the documents by post.
