Essex County Council

(A134 Northern Approach, Colchester) (Two-Way Bus Lane) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 2(4), and Part III and IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

Effect of the Order:

1. To Revoke: The Essex County Council (Northern Approach, Colchester) (Bus Lane) Order 2025 in its entirety.

2. To Implement: Bus lane (two-way) ‘Permitting Local Buses Only’ restrictions.

Description

A134 Northern Approach Road Busway

From its junction with Mill Road south for approximately 110 metres.

A134 Northern Approach Road Busway

From its junction with Mill Road south to its junction with Dickenson Road, approximately 313 metres.

A134 Northern Approach Road Busway

From its junction with Dickenson Road south to its junction with Wallace Road, approximately 472 metres.

A134 Northern Approach Road Busway

From its junction with Wallace Road south to its junction with Bruff Close, approximately 407 metres.

Date of operation: The Order will come into operation on 14 November 2025

Application to the high court: Anyone who wishes to question the validity of the Order or any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may, within six weeks from the date of the making of the Order apply to the High Court for this purpose.

(City of Colchester) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) (Amendment No.75) Order 202*

Notice is hereby given that Essex County Council proposes to make the order below under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 3(2), 4(1), 4(2), 32(1), 35(1), 46, 49, 53 and Parts III and IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

To Revoke: ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ and To Implement: ‘No Stopping Except Buses’ Restrictions.

East Side: From a point approximately 99 metres South of its junction with Peter Crowe Approach, South for approximately 23 metres.


West Side: From a point approximately 76 metres South of its junction with Peter Crowe Approach, South for approximately 23 metres.

This Order will be incorporated into The Essex County Council (Colchester Borough) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019 by substituting map tiles: TL950 240 Revision 1 – Revision 2.

Notice is hereby given that Essex County Council proposes to make the above Order under Sections 84(1) (a) and (2) and Part III of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

The Effect of the Order:

1. To Revoke: A 40mph Speed Limit and To Implement: A 30mph Speed Limit in the City of Colchester.

Grange Road

From a point approximately 10 metres West of the junction of Vine Road, West for approximately 236 metres.

Heathland Avenue

(i) From its junction with the Grange Road Roundabout, North-West for approximately 7 metres.

(ii) From its junction with the Grange Road Roundabout, South-East for approximately 7 metres.

2. To Implement: A 30mph Speed Limit in the City of Colchester.

From its junction with Grange Road, North, West, then East for its entire length.

The Essex County Council (Grange Road, Tiptree) (40mph Speed Limit) (No.2) Order 2019’ is hereby revoked; all other restrictions shall remain in force by virtue of the new Order.

(Park Lane, Langham) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Park Lane, Langham in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 20m south east of its junction with Langham Lane for a distance of approximately 30m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 9th December 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD03166092905 – Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while remedial reinstatement works are undertaken by Anglian Water.

An alternative route is available via Wick Road, School Road, Moor Road and vice versa (with access only into Park Lane).

The Order will come into effect on 20th November 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Peldon Road, Abberton) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Peldon Road, Abberton in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 105m south west of its junction with Bracken Way for a distance of approximately 275m in a south west direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 2nd December 2025 for 4 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP003S50-2366 – Jointing Solutions Limited). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new electricity connection works are undertaken by Jointing Solutions Limited.

An alternative route is available via Peldon Road, St Ives Road, Mersea Road, B1025, Fingringhoe Road, Peldon Road and vice versa. (with access only into Peldon Road and Malting Road).

The Order will come into effect on 20th November 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Priory Road, Tiptree) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Priory Road, Tiptree in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 150m north east of its junction with Braxted Park Road for a distance of approximately 120m in a northerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 8th December 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP02271375172 – Connect Highways). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while vegetation clearance works are undertaken by Connect Highways.

An alternative route is available via Priory Road, Grange Road, Braxted Park Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 20th November 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(St Andrews Avenue, Colchester) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of St Andrews Avenue, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 520m north west, north east then north of the junction with Greenstead Road Roundabout for a distance of approximately 30m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 10th December 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD01310798251 – Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while mains connection works are undertaken by Anglian Water.

An alternative route is available via A133 and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 20th November 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Wood Lane, Fordham Heath) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Wood Lane, Fordham Heath in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Choats Wood for a distance of approximately 30m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 8th December 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30041003389 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new electricity connection works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

An alternative route is available via Spring Lane Cottages, Fiddlers Hill, Mill Road, Aldham Road, Plummers Road, Wormingford Road, Fordham Road, B1058, A131, A1124, Wood Lane and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 20th November 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Albion Grove, Colchester) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Albion Grove, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Canterbury Road to its junction with Winchester Road for a distance of approximately 110m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 27th November 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2393508 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway repair work is undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via Canterbury Road, Bourne Road, Winchester Road and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 6th November 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Jubilee Lane, Ardleigh) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Jubilee Lane, Ardleigh in the District of Tendring, from its junction with Bromley Road to a distance of approximately 85m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 24th November 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MT002DS0064651 – Affinity Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Affinity Water.

An alternative route is available via Spring Valley Lane, Bromley Road and vice versa (with access only into Jubilee Lane).

The Order came into effect on 6th November 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Knights Field, Colchester) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Knights Field, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Canterbury Road for a distance of approximately 25m in a westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 25th November 2025 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30035201169 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while low voltage cable fault repair works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

No diversion route is available.

The Order came into effect on 6th November 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
