What is happening?

PUBLIC NOTICE
THE WOLVERHAMPTON CITY COUNCIL
(DARLINGTON STREET/WATERLOO ROAD/SCHOOL STREET
JUNCTION) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Wolverhampton City Council propose to make an Order
under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as substituted by the Road Traffic
(Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, prohibiting vehicles from proceeding on the following stretches
of road:
• Darlington Street closed its entire length in both directions.
• Waterloo Road closed in both directions with Clarence Street and Darlington Street/School
Street.
• School Street closed in both directions between its junctions with Skinner Street and Waterloo
Road/Darlington Street.
• Reversal of One Way on Queen Square and Lichfield Street to enable traffic to travel in an
easterly direction. Vehicular Diversion Routes: Waterloo Road, Ring Road St. Andrews,
Chapel Ash Island, Ring Road St Marks and Salop Street or School Street, Salop Street,
Cleveland Street, Garrick Street, Bilston Street, Pipers Row, Berry Street, Princess Street,
Princes Square, Stafford Street and Ring Road or Queen Square, Lichfield Street, Princes
Square, Stafford Street and Ring Road.
The Order may operate for a maximum period of eighteen months, but it is anticipated that the
works will be undertaken from 24th November 2025 until 29th November 2025, between the hours
of 20:00 and 06:00.
The Order is required to facilitate Public Realm works being undertaken by the City of
Wolverhampton Council.
