Goring Lane, Wokefield - Temporary Road Closures due to Works

WEST BERKSHIRE DISTRICT COUNCIL
(THE COUNCIL) INTENDS TO MAKE ORDERS AS FOLLOWING
(GORING LANE, WOKEFIELD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2025
The Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Goring Lane in Wokefield between its junction with Reading Road, Burghfield and its junction with Wokefield Byway 13.
The alternative route for LGV vehicles affected by the Order is via Grazeley Green Road, Mereoak Lane, Mortimer Road, Lambwood Hill, Bloomfieldhatch Lane, The Street (Wokefield), The Street (Mortimer), Victoria Road, Burghfield Road, Reading Road and vice versa.
The alternative route for HGV vehicles affected by the Order is via Fullers Lane, Burnthouse Lane, Amners Farm Road, Burghfield Road, The Hatch, Hermits Hill, Reading Road and vice versa.
The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for utility works to be undertaken by SSE and any additional collaborative works.
The proposed Order will come into effect on 17th November 2025. It is envisaged that there will be various closures along Goring Lane between 17th November 2025 and 30th October 2026. Only one section of the road will be closed at any one time.
Unless stated otherwise the above orders shall remain in force for a period of eighteen months, or until the works are complete, whichever is the soonest, they will not take effect until approved traffic signs have been erected. Final details of the closure can be viewed on One.Network
