What is happening?

BURY COUNCIL

THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF BURY (SPRING LANE/CONEY GREEN WAY, RADCLIFFE) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING, PROHIBITION OF LOADING & SCHOOL ENTRANCE MARKINGS – PROHIBITION OF STOPPING) AND (REVOCATION) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bury Metropolitan Borough Council proposes to make the above named Order under sections 1, 2, 3 & 4 and Part III of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers.

The effect of the Order will be the introduction of prohibition of waiting and prohibition of loading restrictions, school entrance markings; prohibition of waiting restrictions and the revocation of an existing order.

Introduction of no waiting at any time, no loading at any time:

Coney Green Way - Both sides, from the northerly kerbline of Spring Lane for the full length of Coney Green Way in a northerly direction, including the new mini roundabout.

Spring Lane - South side from a point 66m west of the westerly kerbline of Rectory Lane to a point 14m west of the westerly kerbline of the Metrolink car park entrance (adjacent to 66 Spring Lane).

North side from a point 38m east of the projected easterly kerbline of Bridgefield Street for a distance of 155m in an easterly direction.

Introduction of School Entrance Markings – no stopping at any time:

Coney Green Way - north westerly side from the school entrance gate for a distance of 25.56m in a southerly direction.

South east side from the school entrance gate for a distance of 25.56m in a southerly direction.

Introduction of no waiting at any time:

Spring Lane - North side from a point 18 metres east of the projected easterly kerbline of Bridgefield Street to a point 38 metres east of the projected easterly kerbline of Bridgefield Street.

Rectory Lane - West side from a point 58 metres south of the southerly kerbline of Spring Lane for a distance of 15 metres in a southerly direction.

Church Street West - Northerly side from a point 35 metres northeast of the north easterly kerbline of Glebe Street for a distance of 27.3 metres in a north easterly direction.

Existing Traffic Regulation Order to be revoked:

The Metropolitan Borough of Bury (Spring Lane and Rectory Lane, Radcliffe) (Prohibition of Waiting) Order 2009 (Order ref. RAD183) shall hereby be revoked in its entirety save for the following lengths of road which shall be retained under this Order:

Spring Lane - North side from a point 18 metres east of the projected easterly kerbline of Bridgefield Street to a point 38 metres east of the projected easterly kerbline of Bridgefield Street.

Rectory Lane - West side from a point 58 metres south of the southerly kerbline of Spring Lane for a distance of 15 metres in a southerly direction.

Church Street West - Northerly side from a point 35 metres northeast of the north easterly kerbline of Glebe Street for a distance of 27.3 metres in a north easterly direction.

A copy of the draft Order (including the exemptions contained within it) with plans showing the roads and areas affected, and a statement of the Council’s reasons for making the Order, can be requested via the email Traffic@bury.gov.uk, or the postal address below, quoting reference TM2-24-549.

In addition, the documents may be inspected at Bury Town Hall Reception, Knowsley Street, Bury BL9 0SW (9am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday).
