What is happening?

EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
The East Sussex (U7528 Upper Close, Forest Row) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure
Upper Close – for its entire length.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.

The Order commences 1 December 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 1 and 15 December 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U7531 High Street, Frant) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow SGN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure
High Street – from the junction with U7531 Church Lane to no. 40.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.

The Order commences 17 November 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 17 and 21 November 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U7466 Corseley Road, Groombridge)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure
Corseley Road – from the junction with U7466 Forge Road to the junction with C70 Station Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U7844 Motts Mill – B2188 Cherry Gardens Hill, Hendal Hill – B2110 Withyham Road – C70 Station Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 20 November 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 20 and 21 November 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C70 Broadwater Forest Lane, Groombridge)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure
Broadwater Forest Lane – from the junction with C70 Station Road to the junction with A26 Eridge Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C70 Station Road – U7467 Eridge Road, Groombridge Lane – A26 Eridge Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 17 November 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 17 November 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (B2100 Sparrows Green Road, Wadhurst)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure
Sparrows Green Road – from the junction with C272 South View Road to the junction with B2099 High Street.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2100 Cousley Wood Road, The Slade – A21(T) – B2087 High Street, Union Street, Broom Hill, Berners Hill, Dale Hill, Lower Platts – B2099 High Street, Shovers Green, Ticehurst Road, Moseham Hill, Lower High Street, High Street and vice versa.

The Order commences 17 November 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 17 and 29 November 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.
