The Borough Of Middlesbrough- Off Street Parking Places Consolidation Order

THE COUNCIL OF THE BOROUGH OF MIDDLESBROUGH (OFF STREET PARKING PLACES) (CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2021 AMENDMENT ORDER No 6 2025

NOTICE is hereby given that the Council of the Borough of Middlesbrough have made the following Order under Sections 1, 2, 3, 32, 35, 45, 46, 47, 49, 51 and 53 and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act. The proposed Order will be cited as The Council of the Borough of Middlesbrough (Off Street Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2021 Amendment Order No 6 2025, come into operation on 1st December 2025 and amend the Articles & Schedules of The Council of the Borough of Middlesbrough (Off Street Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2021 as listed in the First and Second Schedules hereto. Exemptions will apply to any vehicle to be used for emergency purposes by the fire brigade, ambulance or police. Full details and descriptions are contained in the Order which, together with a statement of the Council’s reasons for making the order may be examined at Central Library, Centre Square, Middlesbrough, TS1 2AY Mondays to Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays 9am - 5pm and at www.middlesbrough. gov.uk. If any person wishes to question the validity of the Order or any of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Act or that any requirement of the Act or any instrument made under it has not been complied with that person may, within six weeks from the date of this notice apply for that purpose to the High Court. FIRST SCHEDULE
The following are removed from the Articles: The words “Zetland Parking Places as listed in Part II(5) of the Schedule hereto” from Article 2(2)(a), the whole of Article 3(b) “in respect of Zetland Multi-Storey Car Park as listed in Part II(5) of the Schedule hereto - any Goods Motor Vehicle, caravan, Motor Vehicles or trailer either of an unladen weight exceeding 2000 kg or of a height exceeding 1.90 metres” and the word “Zetland” from Article 5(1)(o). The following words in bold type are added to Article 4 (2) (a) “by the insertion of the appropriate coin or coins into a ticket machine or using a credit/debit card at the ticket machine and thereby purchasing a ticket.”. 

SECOND SCHEDULE The following are removed from the Schedule: The words “Zetland &” from item 2 of Part II - Long Stay Parking Places and Item 5 Zetland Car Park in it’s entirety.
