What is happening?

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF BRIDLEWAY AND FOOTPATH
THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL(BURTON JOYCE BRIDLEWAY NO.5, TRENT GARDENS CROSSING & BURTON JOYCEFOOTPATH NO.6, CHESTNUT GROVE CROSSING) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council has made an Order, under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be: -

No person shall: -
(a) proceed on foot,
(b) cause any pedal cycle to proceed,
(c) cause any horse to proceed and
(d) cause any animal to proceed, in the following lengths of bridleway and footpath at Burton Joyce in the Borough of Gedling :-

Burton Joyce Bridleway No.5 over Trent Gardens Level Crossing & Burton Joyce Footpath No.6 over Chestnut Grove Level Crossing

IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions will apply as follows:- From Monday 17th November 2025 at 22:45hrs until Tuesday 18th November 2025 at 05:30hrs inclusive. AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction there is no alternative route for bridleway users.

The prohibition shall apply to enable works to be carried out and in respect of the likelihood of danger to the public and damage to the bridleway . It may also apply on subsequent days when it shall be necessary. If the works are not completed within 6 months, the Order may be extended.

The prohibition is required to enable tamping work through the crossing, and in respect of the likelihood of danger to the public and damage to the path.

THIS CLOSURE WILL ONLY TAKE EFFECT WHEN SIGNS INDICATING CLOSURE ARE DISPLAYED THIS NOTICE IS DATED THIS 14th DAY OF NOVEMBER 2025.
