Myrtle Street, Babworth Road And Westfield Road Retford - Temporary Prohibition Of Driving, Waiting, Loading And Unloading

What is happening?

THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

(MYRTLE STREET, BABWORTH ROAD AND WESTFIELD ROAD RETFORD) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING, WAITING, LOADING AND UNLOADING) ORDER 2025 (BS25-336)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at South Leverton in the District of Bassetlaw.

The effects of the Order will be:
1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road
a. Myrtle Street, Retford - For its entire length.

2. Vehicles are prohibited from waiting, loading and unloading (Both Sides) (at all times) in the following length of road at Retford in the District of (Bassetlaw) :-
a) Myrtle Street, Retford - For its entire length
b) Babworth Road, Retford (Service Road) - From its junction with Myrtle Street for a distance of 95 metres in Easterly Direction
c) Westfield Road, Retford - From its junction with Queen Street for a distance of 30 metres in a South Westerly Direction1. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.

2. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.

IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows:
From 08:00 hours Friday 28th November 2025
Until 17:00 hours Friday 5th December 2025 Daily.

AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be:

Babworth Road, A620 - Queen Street, Westfield Road and vice versa
The Order will come into force on Friday 28th November 2025 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).

The prohibition is required to enable VIA EM on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council to carry out Carriageway Resurfacing and associated works.
