What is happening?
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)
CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL
(NORTHILL ROAD, ICKWELL)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Northill Road, Ickwell outside Yew Tree Cottage.
This temporary closure is required to enable new water connection work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 1 to 3 December 2025 for 24hours a day. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure is via Northill Rd, Cople Road, A603, A600, B658, Ickwell Rd, Northill Rd and vice versa.
The Order will come into operation on 1 December 2025 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL
(BEDFORD ROAD, SHEFFORD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Bedford Road, Shefford between jct with Riverside to A600.
This temporary closure is required to enable footway replacement work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 17 to 28 November 2025. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure is via Northbridge St, High St, A600.
The Order will come into operation on 17 November 2025 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL
(BIGGLESWADE: PART OF BRIDLEWAY NO. 11)
PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION ORDER 2025
On 7 November 2025 Central Bedfordshire Council confirmed the above Order made under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980.
The effect of the Order as confirmed is to divert part of Bridleway No. 11, Biggleswade.
The length of part of Bridleway No. 11, Biggleswade to be stopped up extends from its junction with an unaffected part of Bridleway No. 11, Biggleswade and Footpath No. 16, Biggleswade at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 1915 4641 in a generally northerly direction for approximately 330 metres to terminate at its junction with Bridleway No. 10, Biggleswade and Furzenhall Road at OS GR TL 1919 4673.
The bridleway is stopped up across its full width.
The length of part of Bridleway No. 11, Biggleswade to be created extends from its junction with an unaffected part of Bridleway No. 11, Biggleswade at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 1915 4641 in a generally easterly direction for approximately 173 metres to terminate at its junction with Bridleway No. 10, Biggleswade and Furzenhall Road at OS GR TL 1932 4643.
The new route of the bridleway has a width of 4 metres.
CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL
(BIGGLESWADE: FOOTPATH NO. 16)
PUBLIC PATH EXTINGUISHMENT ORDER 2025
On 7 November 2025 Central Bedfordshire Council confirmed the above Order made under Section 118 of the Highways Act 1980.
The effect of the Order as confirmed is to extinguish Footpath No. 16, Biggleswade.
The length of Footpath No. 16, Biggleswade to be stopped up extends from its junction with Bridleway No. 10, Biggleswade and Furzenhall Road at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 1932 4643 in a generally westerly direction for approximately 173 metres to terminate at its junction with Bridleway No. 11, Biggleswade at OS GR TL 1915 4641.
The footpath is stopped up across its full width.

The two Orders above come into force on 14 November 2025 but if a person aggrieved by either Order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within 6 weeks from 14 November 2025 make an application to the High Court.
CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL
(DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT FOR BEDFORDSHIRE)
(STOTFOLD: FOOTPATH NO. 32) MODIFICATION ORDER 2023
On 23 October 2025 the Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs confirmed the above-named Order without modification.
The effect of the Order as confirmed is to modify the definitive map and statement for the area by adding to them the following length of footpath:
The length of Footpath No. 32, Stotfold to be added extends from its junction with Church Road at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 2185 3683 along a track in a generally north north-easterly direction for approximately 59 metres and past an electricity substation to the west to OS GR TL 2187 3688. It then continues in a generally north-easterly direction for approximately 36 metres to OS GR TL 2189 3692 and then extends in a north-westerly direction along a track for approximately 6 metres to terminate at its junction with the eastern end of Home Close at OS GR TL 2189 3692.
The Footpath has a width of 5.5 metres at OS GR TL 2185 3683 narrowing to a width of 4 metres at OS GR TL 2187 3688. It continues with a width of 4 metres from OS GR TL 2187 3688 to OS GR TL 2189 3692 and then continues with a width of 2 metres from OS GR TL 2189 3692 to OS GR TL 2189 3692.
