What is happening?

COMHAIRLE NAN EILEAN SIAR
TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE
(CROMWELL STREET, NORTH BEACH STREET, CASTLE STREET, POINT STREET, FRANCIS STREET & BANK STREET, STORNOWAY) ORDER 2025
Comhairle nan Eilean Siar, under section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, hereby gives notice of the temporary road closure of the following sections of road between 6.15pm and 8.30pm on Tuesday 25th November 2025.
CROMWELL STREET – from the Bayhead Street/Kenneth Street junction and then in a southernly direction to North Beach Street.
NORTH BEACH STREET - from Cromwell Street and then in in a westerly direction to Castle Street.
CASTLE STREET (WEST LANE ONLY) – from South Beach Street and then in a northerly direction to North Beach Street.
POINT STREET/ FRANCIS STREET – from Castle Street and then in an easterly direction to Kenneth Street.
BANK STREET – from South Beach Street in a northerly direction to North Beach Street.
The temporary road closure is in the interests of road safety for the duration of the Christmas lights event in Stornoway.
Traffic will be held up at any junctions or accesses to the sections of road affected by the closure.
Alternative routes are via Kenneth St and South Beach St.
