THE DERBYSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (VARIOUS STREETS - WHITTINGTON MOOR AND NEWBOLD) (PROHIBITION
AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING AND LOADING) TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025
Notice is hereby given that Derbyshire County Council proposes to make the above named Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order will be, in respects of roads in Chesterfield is as follows:
TO PROHIBIT WAITING AT ANY TIME BY VEHICLES (EXCEPT THOSE DELIVERING OR COLLECTING GOODS OR LOADING AND UNLOADING) ON THE FOLLOWING LENGTHS OF ROAD:
Avenue Road, Whittington Moor
North-west side
From a point 33 metres south-west of its junction with Sheffield Road in a south-westerly direction, for a distance of 19 metres.
Eastside Road, Chesterfield
East side
From a point 17 metres north of the northern kerbline of Pottery Lane East in a southerly direction, to a point 49 metres south of the southern kerbline of that junction.
West side
From a point 19.5 metres south of its junction with Eastside Close in a southerly direction, to a point 23 metres south of its junction with Pottery Lane East.
Lancaster Road, Newbold
North-east side
From its junction with St John’s Road in a north-westerly direction, for a distance of 10 metres.
South-west side
From its junction with St John’s Road in a north-westerly direction, for a distance of 10 metres.
Pottery Lane East, Chesterfield
North-west side
From its junction with Eastside Road in a north-easterly direction, for a distance of 36 metres.
From its junction with Eastside Road in a south-westerly direction, for a distance of 13 metres.
From a point 51 metres south-west of its southern junction with Eastside Road in a south-westerly direction, for a distance of 68 metres.
South-east side
From its junction with Eastside Road in a south-westerly direction, for a distance of 107 metres.
From its junction with Eastside Road in a north-easterly direction, for a distance of 40 metres.
Queen Street North, Whittington Moor
North side
From a point 4 metres north-east of its junction with Sheffield Road in a north-easterly direction, for a distance of 7 metres.
North-east side
From a point 103 metres north-east of its junction with Sheffield Road in a south-easterly direction, for a distance of 21 metres.
South side
From a point 5 metres east of its junction with Sheffield Road in an easterly and then south-easterly direction, for a distance of 142 metres.
Rugby Drive, Stonegravels
North side
From its junction with Sheffield Road in a westerly direction, for a distance of 10 metres South side
From its junction with Sheffield Road in a westerly direction, for a distance of 10 metres.
Sheffield Road, Whittington Moor
East side
From a point 5 metres south-east of its junction with Shaw Street in a south-easterly direction, for a distance of 9.5 metres.
From a point 68 metres south of its junction with Hazlehurst Lane in a southerly direction, for a distance of 62 metres.
West side
From a point 12 metres south of its junction with Rugby Drive in a northerly direction, to a point 12 metres north of that junction.
Sheffield Road, Un-named Link Road Adjacent The Red Lion Pub
South and north-east side
From its junction with Station Road in a south-westerly and north-westerly direction, for a distance of 27 metres.
St Johns Road, Chesterfield
North-west side
From a point 10 metres south-west of its junction with Lancaster Road in a north-easterly direction, to a point 3 metres north-east of that junction.
Exemptions will be made for vehicles used in connection with any building operation or demolition; removal of any obstruction to traffic; carrying out of statutory powers or as part of a funeral or wedding cortege. The usual exemptions for disabled persons’ vehicles displaying a valid disabled person’s badge will also apply.
TO LIMIT WAITING BY VEHICLES TO 1 HOUR NO RETURN WITHIN 2 HOURS, MONDAY TO SATURDAY, 9AM TO 6PM ON THE FOLLOWING LENGTHS OF ROAD:
Sheffield Road, Whittington Moor
West side
From a point 26 metres south of its junction with Stand Road in a southerly direction, for a distance of 20 metres.
From a point 40 metres north of its junction with Grove Road in a northerly direction, for a distance of 46.5 metres.
TO INTRODUCE A LOADING BAY TO OPERATE AT ANY TIME ON THE FOLLOWING LENGTH OF ROAD:
Sheffield Road, Whittington Moor
West side
From a point 57 metres south of its junction with Avenue Road in a southerly direction, for a distance of 17.5 metres.
The opportunity is going to be taken to consolidate, in this Order (if made) all the current existing restrictions affected by these proposals. This is an administrative exercise only, it does not change the restriction nor the length of road covered, it simply gives the Council the ability to write the restriction descriptions, so that start and end points of the total restriction is described. Any permanent Traffic Regulation Orders made prior to this Order, insofar as they relate to the lengths of road listed above, will be revoked. A copy of the Order and documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order are available for inspection at the County Council’s principal offices known as County Hall on Smedley Street in Matlock, at Chesterfield Library, New Beetwell Street, Chesterfield S40 1QN, during opening hours and on request by emailing
