5036 Trunk Road, Park Lane - Temporary Restriction & Prohibition of Traffic For Junction Improvement Works

THE A5036 TRUNK ROAD (PARK LANE) (CARRIAGEWAYS)
(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION & PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company No. 09346363) has made an Order on the A5036 Trunk Road, in the Borough of Sefton, in the County of Merseyside, to enable junction improvement works together with other general maintenance works; to be carried out in safety.
The Order will:
a) impose speed limits on the following sections of the A5036 Trunk Road:
i. 30 mph on the eastbound carriageway, from a point 140 metres east of the Heysham Road Junction, to a point 320 metres west of the Park Lane Junction;
ii. 30 mph on the westbound carriageway, from a point 350 metres west of the Atlantic Park Junction, to a point 160 metres east of the Park Lane Junction.
b) ban all traffic from the following sections of the A5036 Trunk Road:
i. the eastbound carriageway, from a point 330 metres east of the Park Lane Junction, to a point 200 metres west of the same point;
ii. the westbound carriageway, from a point 940 metres west of the Park Lane West Junction, to a point 200 metres west of the same point;
iii. the Dunnings Bridge westbound Service Road, from the junction with Galgate Drive, to the point at which the westbound service road joins the A5036 main carriageway.
c) ban all traffic from turning right through the gap in the central reservation of the A5036 Trunk Road, 160 metres east of the Park Lane West Junction.
d) ban all traffic from the following:
i. the bus stop layby on the eastbound carriageway, 52 metres east of the Park Lane West Junction;
ii. the bus stop layby on the eastbound carriageway, 220 metres east of the Park Lane West Junction;
iii. the bus stop layby on the eastbound carriageway, 20 metres west of the Park Lane West Junction; iv. the bus stop layby on the westbound carriageway, 275 metres east of the Park Lane Junction;
v. the bus stop layby on the westbound carriageway, 85 metres west of the Park Lane Junction.
e) ban all traffic from:
i. turning right from the A5036 eastbound carriageway into Park Lane West;
ii. turning right from the A5036 westbound carriageway into Park Lane.
f) ban all pedestrians, from the following footways on the A5036 Trunk Road:
i. westbound from a point 120 metres east of the Park Lane Junction, to a point 150 metres south of the same point;
ii. westbound from a point 270 metres west of the Park Lane Junction, to a point 150 metres south of the same point;
iii. eastbound from a point 100 metres west of the Park Lane West Junction, to a point 50 metres north of the same point;
iv. eastbound from a point 120 metres east of the Park Lane West Junction, to a point 50 metres north of the same point.
Prohibitions b) i. and ii. are expected to take place overnight between 20:00 hours and 06:00 hours, during a period starting on Monday 10 November 2025 and ending on Friday 24 April 2026.
Restriction a) and prohibitions b) iii., c), d), e), and f) are expected to take place during a continuous period between 20:00 hours on Monday 10 November 2025 and ending at 00:00 hours on Friday 24 April 2026.
However, works may start and continue during subsequent continuous periods, or between the same times on subsequent nights until completed.
Diversion routes via alternative junctions of the A5036 Trunk Road and local roads will be well signed.
The restrictions will not apply to emergency services or special forces vehicles, and the prohibitions will not apply to emergency services, traffic officer, and winter maintenance vehicles, and will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.
