B743 (Muirkirk Road), Strathaven Temporary Road Closure Order 2025
South Lanarkshire Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, and of all other enabling powers, has made the following Order:-
This Order may be cited as “South Lanarkshire Council, B743 (Muirkirk Road), Strathaven, Temporary Road Closure Order 2025” and shall come into operation between 7am 8 December 2025 and 7pm 19 December 2025.
The restrictions will be applied on site by the display of traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
Whilst this order remains in force no person shall park, drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle on the sections of road specified in Schedule 1 by reason resurfacing/accident reduction measures.
Nothing in Article 2 of this Order shall prevent the driving upon the said road by any vehicle which is being used in connection with the resurfacing or by emergency service vehicles.
Schedule 1 – Temporary Road Closure – B743 (Muirkirk Road)
B743 (Muirkirk Road), Strathaven, between its junction with B745 (Waterhead, Peelhill and Linbank Highway) and Ayrshire boundary.
Alternative Route Via B743, A70, B7078, B7086, A71, B743 and vice versa.
