Kingston upon Thames, Amendment To Parking Restrictions For Disabled Bays

What is happening?

ROYAL BOROUGH OF KINGSTON UPON THAMES

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames propose to make the following Order The Kingston upon Thames (Parking, Waiting, Loading and Stopping Restrictions) (Amendment No. ) Order 202- under sections under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 (insofar as applicable) to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984¹, as amended, and all other powers thereunto enabling.

2. The General effect of the Order will:–

(a) provide new disabled person’s parking places, 6.6 metres in length and 2.0 metres in width in which vehicles displaying a disabled person’s blue badge may park at any time, at the following locations:–

(i) outside No. 32 Barnfield Gardens, Kingston (in place of existing uncontrolled footway parking bay 2 wheels on the footway)

(ii) outside No. 33 Berrylands Road, Surbiton

(iii) outside No. 39 Durlston Road, Kingston

(iv) outside No. 74 Southwood Drive, Surbiton

(v) outside No. 1 Tankerton Road, Surbiton

(vi) adjacent No. 16 Wolsey Way, Chessington (in place of existing uncontrolled footway parking bay 2 wheels on the footway)

(b) revoke existing disabled person’s parking places at the following locations:–

(i) outside No. 10 Bransby Road, Chessington

(ii) outside No. 36 Broomfield Road, Surbiton

(iii) adjacent 71 Chestnut Grove, New Malden located on Poplar Grove, New Malden

(iv) outside No. 101 Kingshill Avenue, Worcester Park

(v) outside No 31 Mount Road, New Malden and outside No. 43 Mount Road, New Malden

3. Copies of the proposed Order, of the Council’s Statement of Reasons for proposing to make the Order and draft map schedules showing the location and the effect of the proposals may be inspected from 6 November 2025 as follows:–

(a) online at https://consultation.appyway.com/kingston-upon-thames selecting MapKing0113 – Disabled Bays Borough Wide

(b) Council libraries; or

(c) copies of the draft Order and draft map schedules can also be obtained by calling 020 8547 5000 (between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday).

4. Comments on the proposed Order can be submitted either electronically via the link provided in paragraph 3(a) or in writing to the Traffic Order Team, Guildhall 2, Kingston upon Thames, KT1 1EU (please quote ref MapKing0113) by 27 November 2025.
