What is happening?

THE MAIDSTONE BOROUGH COUNCIL
(OFF STREET PARKING PLACES) CONSOLIDATION ORDER 2025

Maidstone Borough Council (hereinafter referred to as “the Council”) hereby give notice that in exercise of its powers under section 35 and 124 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and Part 6 of the Traffic Management Act 2004 having obtained the consent of the Kent County Council in accordance with Section 39(3) of the Act, and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the chief officer of police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act - has made an order the affects of which will be to consolidate the following orders;

The Maidstone Borough Council (Off Street Parking Places) (Variation No 1) Order 2020

The Maidstone Borough Council (Off Street Parking Places) (Variation No 2) Order 2022

The Maidstone Borough Council (Off Street Parking Places) (Variation No 3) Order 2023

The Maidstone Borough Council (Off Street Parking Places) (Variation No 4) Order 2025

The effect of the new Order to be cited as the Maidstone Borough Council (Off Street Parking Places) Consolidation Order 2025 and will come into effect on 1st December 2025 the Order will revoke the above Orders but the provisions in those Orders will remain in force unchanged by virtue of the new Order.

A copy of the made Order, any Orders which will be amended by the proposed Orders, a statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the Orders and indicating

from Friday 14th November 2025.

Any person wishing to question the validity of an order or any of it’s provisions on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the relevant enabling Act or that a requirement of any such enabling Act or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with, may within 6 weeks from the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court
