PROVISION OF TOUCAN CROSSING ON A638 LONDON ROAD, RETFORD
What is happening?
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council in exercise of its powers under Section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 proposes to install a signalised Toucan Crossing on A638 London Road, Retford at its junction with Goosemoor Lane in the District of Bassetlaw.
1. The proposals will incorporate a controlled area, indicated by zig-zag markings along the carriageway where parking, stopping and loading will be prohibited. The extents of the controlled areas are: -
A638 London Road, Retford (both sides)
- From its junction with Goosemoor Lane in a southeasterly direction for 45 metres.
The proposed Toucan Crossing would improve pedestrian and cyclists accessibility when crossing over A638 London Road, as well as improving safety. Further details can be found by visiting the County Council's Website (https://consult.nottinghamshire.gov.uk)
Any objections to the proposals, specifying the grounds on which they are made, should be sent in writing before 11th December 2025 using the e mail or postal address at the bottom of the letter.
