What is happening?

THE OLDHAM - FOOTPATH 34, 78 & 36 CHADDERTON
TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER 2025
The Oldham Borough Council intend to make a Temporary
Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as
amended, the effect of which will be to prohibit pedestrians
from proceeding along:-
1. Footpath 34 Chadderton between Ferney Field Road
and Roachwood Close (first visit) between 18 th and 25th
November 2025. Alternative route - Ferney Field Road,
Footpath 78, Footpath 77, Birchwood, Firwood Park,
Ridgewood Avenue and Roachwood Close (first visit)
2. Footpath 78, Chadderton between Footpath 34 and
Footpath 43 & Footpath 34 between Footpath 36 and
Footpath 78 between 26 th and 28 th November 2025.
Alternative route - Footpath 43, Foxdenton Lane, Lydia
Becker Way, Footpath 37 and Footpath 36
3. Footpath 36 Chadderton between Footpath 34 and
Footpath 38 between 29th November and 5th December
2025. Alternative route - Footpath 78, Footpath 43,
Foxdenton Lane, Lydia Becker Way and Footpath 37
4. Footpath 34 Chadderton between Ferney Field Road
and Roachwood Close (second visit) between 19th and
23rd December 2025. Alternative route - Ferney Field
Road, Footpath 78, Footpath 77, Birchwood, Firwood Park,
Ridgewood Avenue and Roachwood Close (second visit)
The Order is to be made to allow cable excavations and will
be in force for 8 weeks from 18th November 2025, or until
the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
Works will be carried out in 4 phases and not all footpaths
will be closed at the same time.
A copy of the Order may be examined at my office between
the hours of 8.40am and 5.00pm on Monday to Friday
