THE BOROUGH COUNCIL OF GATESHEAD (HEXHAM ROAD & FIFE TERRACE, SWALWELL) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025
What is happening?
Notice is hereby given that the Borough Council of
Gateshead proposes to make an Order under section 14(1)
of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which
will be to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding
along:-
i) Hexham Road - from a point 120 metres northwest of its
junction with The Pavillion to its junction with Hexham Road
roundabout,
ii) Fife Terrace - from its junction with River View, for its
entire length.
The Order is required to facilitate works resurfacing works.
The Order will come into force on 24 November 2025.
The maximum duration of the Order will be 18 months.
Advanced notification of the commencement of the works
will be issued to prior to the Order coming into effect.
During the works all vehicles (except vehicles associated
with the works and emergency service vehicles on duty)
will be prohibited from proceeding along the above road
until the works are completed or at such times and to such
extent as may from time to time be indicated by the display
of traffic signs. During the prohibition there will be a signed
diversion in place.
