What is happening?
(PENSHER STREET EAST BACK,
FELLING FOOTPATH CLOSURE)
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC
REGULATION ORDER 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Borough Council of
Gateshead proposes to make an Order under section 14(1)
of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which
will be to temporarily prohibit pedestrians from proceeding
along the footpath on Pensher Street East Back from the
rear of 27 Pensher Street East, in a southerly direction for
29 metres, then in an easterly direction for 55 metres. The
Order is required to facilitate works being carried out to
install a new LV cable.
The Order will come into force on the 24 November 2025.
The maximum duration of the Order will be 6 months,
however the works are expected to be completed on the
19 December 2025.
During the works all pedestrians (except pedestrians
associated with the works and emergency service
operatives on duty) will be prohibited from proceeding
along the above footpath until the works are completed
or at such times and to such extent as may from time to
time be indicated by the display of traffic signs. During the
prohibition there will be a signed diversion in place.
