What is happening?

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC
REGULATION ORDER 2025
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 14 October
2025 the Council of the City of Newcastle upon
Tyne made an Order under Section 14 of the Road
Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will
be to prohibit any vehicular traffic to proceed on
i - Hadrian Place, between its western junction with
Hexham Road and Callerton Road.
ii - Hadrian Place, between its eastern junction with
Hexham Road and Callerton Road.
2. The alternative route for traffic will be signed on
site as required.
3. The order is required to allow works to be carried
out on or near the highway.
4. Exemptions will be provided for vehicles engaged
in the said works and police, fire brigade and
ambulance vehicles on emergency call.
5. The Order will come into operation on 6 October
2025 and will continue, as and when the relevant
traffic signs are displayed, up to 14 November
2025 or until the proposed works are completed,
whichever is the earlier.
