The East Sussex (A22 Eastbourne Road/East Hoathly Bypass/South Street, Halland & East Hoathly) (Temporary 30 mph Speed Limit) Order 2025

To allow East Hoathly and Halland Carnival Society to carry out an event, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily restrict all traffic using the following length of road to a speed not exceeding 30 mph:

Temporary 30 mph Speed Limit

Eastbourne Road/East Hoathly Bypass/South Street – from the junction with B2192 Lewes Road to the junction with C13 Park Lane.

The Order commences 8 November 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier. However, it is anticipated the speed restriction will be in place from 17:00hrs to 23:00hrs on 8 November 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow SGN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Alice Bright Lane – from the junction with U7486 High Broom Road to the junction with C254 Hurtis Hill. A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C11 Fermor Road, Walshes Road, Hadlow Down Road – C483 Fordbrook Hill, Burnt Oak Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 11 November 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. To allow Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Town Littleworth Road – from the junction with C205 Cooksbridge Road to the junction with U5654 Markstakes Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U5654 Markstakes Lane – A275 South Street, South Road, Resting Oak Hill – C205 Deadmantree Hill and vice versa.

The Order commences 12 November 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. To allow Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Talbot Terrace – from the junction with U5151 Talbot Terrace to the junction with A2029 White Hill.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U5151 Talbot Terrace, Toronto Terrace, St Johns Terrace – A2029 White Hill and vice versa.
