EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

The East Sussex (A22 Eastbourne Road/East Hoathly Bypass/South Street, Halland & East Hoathly) (Temporary 30 mph Speed Limit) Order 2025

To allow East Hoathly and Halland Carnival Society to carry out an event, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily restrict all traffic using the following length of road to a speed not exceeding 30 mph:

Temporary 30 mph Speed Limit

Eastbourne Road/East Hoathly Bypass/South Street – from the junction with B2192 Lewes Road to the junction with C13 Park Lane.

The Order commences 8 November 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier. However, it is anticipated the speed restriction will be in place from 17:00hrs to 23:00hrs on 8 November 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C483 Alice Bright Lane, Crowborough)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow SGN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Alice Bright Lane – from the junction with U7486 High Broom Road to the junction with C254 Hurtis Hill. A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C11 Fermor Road, Walshes Road, Hadlow Down Road – C483 Fordbrook Hill, Burnt Oak Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 11 November 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 11 and 14 November 2025 depending upon the weather conditions. (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025 No.2

To allow Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Town Littleworth Road – from the junction with C205 Cooksbridge Road to the junction with U5654 Markstakes Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U5654 Markstakes Lane – A275 South Street, South Road, Resting Oak Hill – C205 Deadmantree Hill and vice versa.

The Order commences 12 November 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. The East Sussex (C326 Shortgate Lane, Laughton)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025 No.2

To allow Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Shortgate Lane – from the junction with B2124 Lewes Road to the junction with U7663 Common Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C326 Shortgate Lane – B2192 The Broyle – B2124 Laughton Road, Lewes Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 13 November 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow City Fibre to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Milton Street – from the junction with A27 Lewes Road to the junction with C120 Lullington Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C120 Lullington Road – C39 North Street, Alfriston Road – A27(T) Drusillas roundabout, Lewes Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 11 November 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Nettlesworth Lane – from the junction with C406 School Hill to the junction with C406 Nettlesworth Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C406 School Hill – C589 Old Heathfield Road – B2096 Cade Street – C16 Chapel Lane – C409 White Birch Lane, Church Hill, Hammer Lane – C596 Clappers Lane, Foords Lane and vice versa.

The Order commences 10 November 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Talbot Terrace – from the junction with U5151 Talbot Terrace to the junction with A2029 White Hill.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U5151 Talbot Terrace, Toronto Terrace, St Johns Terrace – A2029 White Hill and vice versa. The Order commences 10 November 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. Bradfords Lane – from the junction with A22 Uckfield bypass to the junction with U7518 Bradfords Lane. Layby Old A22 – from the junction with U7403 Bradfords Lane to the junction with A22 Uckfield bypass.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U7518 Bradfords Lane – A26 Lewes Road – A22 Little Horsted roundabout – A22 Uckfield bypass and vice versa.

The Order commences 10 November 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 10 and 12 November 2025 depending upon the weather conditions. To allow O2 to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Cameron Close – for its entire length.
