Maryport, Temporary Prohibition Of Pedestrians Due To Footbridge Replacement Works
What is happening?
CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (FOOTPATH NO. 244030 IN THE PARISH OF MARYPORT) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable works to take place to facilitate the replacement of a footbridge ("the Works"), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit pedestrians from proceeding along an approx 55m length of Public Footpath No.244030 in the Parish of Maryport between Grid Refs: 302427 534553 and 302407 534504.
A suitable alternative route for pedestrians will be available via Public Footpath No 244055, crossing the railway at Flimby Station, the footways of the A595 Station Road and England Coast Path High Tide Route.

The Order will come into operation on 24 November 2025 and may continue in force for a period of up to six months from that date as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed, it is anticipated that it will be required for a period of 1 month within the 6 month period from 24 November 2025.
