What is happening?
THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA
(FOOTPATH NO.540008 IN THE PARISH OF KIRKBY LONSDALE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS) ORDER 2021
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Order made by Cumbria County Council (now Westmorland and Furness Council) on 2 November 2021, which became operative on 9 November 2021, because of the likelihood of danger to the public due to a landslip, and which would otherwise expire on 9 November 2025:
: has been continued in force with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport until 9 November 2026.
The effect of the Order is to prohibit pedestrians from proceeding along an approx. 140 metre section of Public Footpath No.540008 at Ruskin’s View in the Parish of Kirkby Lonsdale, between Grid References: 361141 478895 and 361083 479015.
There is no suitable alternative route available for pedestrians.
