Essex, Multiple Roads, Temporary Closures Due To Various Works
What is happening?
Essex County Council
(Radford Way, Billericay) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) (Special Event, Billericay Fireworks) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section S14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended)
Effect of the order: To temporarily close Radford Way, Billericay in the Borough of Basildon for its entire length from the roundabout with Mountnessing Road to the B1007 Stock Road. To facilitate the Billericay Community Firework Display.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 08 November 2025 between the hours of 19:30 to 21:00 or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting. The closure is required for the safety of the public and assisting spectators of the Firework display to exit in the safe manner. There will be marshals to also escort crowds for the bus for buses. Access for residents will be via permit.
The alternative route is via: B1007, Western Road, A129 London Road, Mountnessing Road and vice versa.
Access for emergency service vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained at all times during the closure.
The Order will come into operation on 08 November 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the event has been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Holden Road, Fryerns) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Holden Road, Fryerns in the Borough of Basildon, from its junction with Battleswick for a distance of approximately 45m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 1st December 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2391499 – Essex County Council).
The scheduled dates may vary for each phase of the programme so appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while kerb line repair and footway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council. An alternative route is available via Holden Road, Theydon Crescent, Whitmore Way, Battleswick and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 13th November 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Kents Hill Road North, Thundersley) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
To temporarily close that length of road in the Borough of Castle Point as specified in the schedule to this Order.
A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of the carriageway on the above length of road during the times of the closure to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.
“The Essex County Council (Castle Point Borough) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily suspended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above length of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 13th November 2025 exact dates will be specified on One.Network. The road will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Raymonds Drive, Thundersley in the Borough of Castle Point, from a point approximately 20m north west of its junction with Hart Road for a distance of approximately 60m in a north westerly then north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 3rd December 2025 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC410100WLDJ6G1P – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for each phase with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole replacement works are undertaken by Openreach.
An alternative route is available via Raymonds Drive, Hart Road, Park Road, Raymonds Drive and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 13th November 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Various Roads, District of Rochford) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) (No.6) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
To temporarily close those lengths of road in the District of Rochford as specified in the schedule to this Order.
A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of the carriageway as per the schedule to facilitate the works.
Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.

Effect of the order: To temporarily introduce a 40mph speed restriction on that length of Burnham Road, Rettendon/South Woodham Ferrers in the City of Chelmsford from both of the junctions with Hawk Hill roundabout to the junctions with Fen Roundabout a distance of approximately 3780m in both directions. The speed restriction is scheduled to commence from 4th November 2025 for 178 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP20153089185 & EP20153089185A – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs indicating and displayed on one.network. Essex County Council has introduced this restriction for the safety of the public and workforce.
The Order came into effect on 4th November 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Chelmsford Road, Rawreth) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Chelmsford Road, Rawreth in the District of Rochford District, from its junction with Rawreth Lane to its junction with Carpenters Arms Roundabout a distance of approximately 1220m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 19th November 2025 for 1 night (21:00–05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (EC30067050260 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while overhead lining and pole works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.
An alternative route is available via A1245, A130 and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 30th October 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Curling Tye, Fryerns) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Curling Tye, Fryerns in the Borough of Basildon, from its junction with Wickes Green for a distance of approximately 115m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 17th November 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2391316 – Essex County Council).
The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while kerb line repair, footway patching, and carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Curling Tye, The Hatherley, Bonnygate and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 30th October 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Spa Road, Hockley) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Spa Road, Hockley in the District of Rochford, from its junction with Station Road for a distance of approximately 90m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 23rd November 2025 for 15 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EN013307966A – Essex And Suffolk Water).
The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Essex And Suffolk Water.
An alternative route is available via Greensward Lane, Ashingdon Road, West Street, Bradley Way, Southend Road, Rochford Road, A1159, A127, B1013, Spa Road and vice versa.
