What is happening?
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)
CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL
(HIGH STREET, BIGGLESWADE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except
a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of High Street, Biggleswade outside Satchells Estate Agents.
This temporary closure is required to enable manhole cover patching works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 8pm on the 10 November to 5am on the 11 November 2025. The road will be closed at all times during this period. The alternative route for this closure is via A6001, Sun Street, Potton Road, B1040, A6001 and vice versa.
The Order will come into operation on 10 November 2025 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(STATION ROAD, LOWER STONDON)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Station Road, Lower Stondon outside number 113.
This temporary closure is required to enable new water connection works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 10 to 12 November 2025. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure is via A600, A507, Shefford Road, Meppershall Road, Upton End Road, Marquis Hill, Shillington Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into operation on 10 November 2025 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL
(NEWTOWN, HENLOW)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Newtown, Henlow outside land east of number 70 Newtown.
This temporary closure is required to enable section 50 works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 10 to 14 November 2025. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure is via B659, Broad Street, Church Street, Stockbridge Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into operation on 10 November 2025 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (BIGGLESWADE: PART OF FOOTPATH NO. 24) PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION ORDER 2025
On 31 October 2025 Central Bedfordshire Council confirmed the above Order made under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980.
The effect of the Order as confirmed is to divert part of Footpath No. 24, Biggleswade as described below.
The length of part of Footpath No. 24, Biggleswade to be stopped up extends from its junction with Saxon Drive at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 2035 4425 in an east-north-easterly direction for approximately 214 metres to terminate at its junction with an unaffected part of Footpath No. 24, Biggleswade at OS GR TL 2055 4433.
The footpath is stopped up across its full width.
The length of part of Footpath No. 24, Biggleswade to be created extends from its junction with Saxon Drive at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 2035 4425 in a generally east-north-easterly direction for approximately 37 metres to OS GR TL 2038 4426 then continues in a generally east-north-easterly direction for approximately 97 metres through a kissing gate at OS GR TL 2047 4430 then continues in a generally east-north-easterly direction for approximately 85 metres to terminate at its junction with an unaffected part of Footpath No. 24, Biggleswade at OS GR TL 2055 4433.
The new route of the footpath has a width of 2 metres.

The new route in the Order comes into force on 30 November 2025 and the existing route will be stopped up on the date on which Central Bedfordshire Council certify that the public footpath described in Article 2 of the Order has been set out to their satisfaction but if a person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within 6 weeks from 7 November 2025 make an application to the High Court.
