THE HIGHLAND COUNCIL (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC PROHIBITIONS ON VARIOUS STREETS, THURSO) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is hereby given that The Highland Council, by virtue of the powers conferred under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended has made the above Order temporarily restricting all vehicular traffic from using Various Streets, Thurso.

As detailed below

Lengths of road affected by temporary prohibition of use
U4135 Riverside Road, closed from its junction with A9 Edinburgh – Scrabster Road to its junction with U4363 Slaughterhouse Lane.
U5063 Sir John's Square, closed from its junction with A9 Edinburgh – Scrabster Road to its junction with B874 Princes Street.
U4117 Patersons Lane, closed from its junction with B874 Princes Street to its junction with U3985 Brabster Street.
U4209 Sinclair Street, closed from its junction with A9 Edinburgh – Scrabster Road to its junction with U4141 Roberson Lane.
U4080 Mansons Lane, closed from its junction with U4135 Riverside Road to its junction with A9 Edinburgh – Scrabster Road.
U3985 Brabster Street, closed from its junction with U4117 Patersons Lane to its junction with A9 Edinburgh – Scrabster Road.
B874 Princes Street, closed from its junction with U5063 Sir John's Square to its junction with U4141 Roberson Lane.
U5064 West Side Sir John's Square, closed from its junction with B874 Princes Street to its junction with U4209 Sinclair Street.

Temporary prohibition on use of a road
From 10:30 hours on 09 November 2025 to 13:00 hours on 09 November 2025 no person shall drive, or cause or permit any vehicle to be driven on the lengths of road, or a part or parts of the lengths of road, specified above when a prohibition is identified as applying by means of one or more of the traffic signs of a type generally provided for under Section 64 of the Road Traffic
Regulation Act 1984, as amended.
This restriction is necessary in order to allow the safe passage of the march and to allow the Service of Remembrance to take place at the War Memorial

Exemptions
No prohibition imposed by this Order applies to:
(a) Emergency vehicles.
(b) Pedestrians.
