Herefordshire, 40mph Speed Limit Variation Order

What is happening?

HEREFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(SPEED LIMIT) (CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2022

(VARIATION) ORDER No.6 2025 (B4203, B4204, U65005, U65045, U65047 & U65041 UPPER SAPEY) (40MPH SPEED LIMIT)

The County of Herefordshire District Council, known as Herefordshire Council in exercise of its powers under Section 84 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the 1984 Act) and the Traffic Management Act 2004 (the 2004 Act) and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the 1984 Act, hereby proposes to make the above-named Order the effect of which would vary the Herefordshire Council (Speed Limit) (Consolidation) Order 2022 so that:

A 40mph speed limit be introduced on the following roads:

B4203 – From a point 169m north-east of its junction with the B4204 to a point 899m south-west of its junction with the U65005.

B4204 – From its junction with the B4203 to a point 154m in a south-east direction and from its junction with the B4203 to a point 279m in a north-west direction.

U65005 – For its entire length

U65045 – For its entire length

U65047 – For its entire length

U65041 – For its entire length

A copy of the 2022 Order, the draft Variation Order named above, a consultation plan and Statement of Reasons can be viewed on the Council’s website at www.herefordshire.gov.uk in the Proposed Traffic Regulation Order section. They are also available for inspection during normal office hours at the Hereford Customer Service Centre, Blue School House, Blue School Street, Hereford, HR1 2LX. Photocopies of the same may be provided on payment of photocopying charges at the Council.

General enquiries relating to the proposal should be referred to the Traffic Management Team at Herefordshire Council (Tel: 01432 260683). Objections to the proposal together with the grounds on which they are made must be sent in writing to the Traffic Management Team, Economy & Environment, Herefordshire Council, Plough Lane, Hereford, HR4 0LE, or by email to TM@herefordshire.gov.uk. The deadline for the receipt of objections is 12:00 noon on Friday 28th November 2025. Representations of support will also be received during this time.

Any representations received by the Council may be imparted to third parties. We will keep your data for up to 7 years. Your information may be shared with other Balfour Beatty teams within Herefordshire and Herefordshire Council in order to provide you with the service.
