Public Footpath FP1201085 - Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic
What is happening?
THE LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(PUBLIC FOOTPATHS FP1201085 & FP1201086 BURNLEY, BURNLEY BOROUGH)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which is to prohibit temporarily all traffic from proceeding over the Public Footpaths indicated below:-
Part of Public Footpath FP1201085 Burnley, Burnley Borough, from Accrington Rd at Point A (SD 8198 3219) in a generally south easterly direction for approximately 120 metres to Villiers Street Point B (SD 8207 3211).
Public Footpath FP1201086 Burnley, Burnley Borough, from Accrington Rd at Point C (SD 8205 3221) in a generally south easterly direction for approximately 150 metres to Villiers Street Point D (SD8212 3213).
The closure is necessary whilst works are carried out on or near the footpaths.
Access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the footpaths, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from, the footpaths, will be maintained at all times.
Nothing in this order shall apply to emergency service vehicles, public rights of way officers of the County Council on foot or to those undertaking the works.
The Order will be operative from the 15th November, 2025, for a period of 6 months or until the works are completed within this period.
