(PUBLIC FOOTPATH No. 54 PENISTONE)
PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION ORDER 2025

On 3rd November 2025 Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council confirmed the above-named Order, the effect of which is to divert part of public footpath no 54 Penistone which commences at a point 337 metres north east of its junction with Folly Lane, Thurlstone (SE 2286/0485) and proceeds north east for a distance of 77 metres (SE 2291/0491) then proceeds south east for a distance of 11 metres (SE 2292/0490) onto a new line commencing at the same point 337 metres north east of its junction with Folly Lane aforesaid and proceeds south east for a distance of 6 metres (SE 2287/0484) then north east for a distance of 80 metres (SE 2292/0490) as shown on the Order map.

A copy of the Order as confirmed and the Order Map may are available to view on the Council’s website at https://www.barnsley.gov.uk/public-notices/, at the Library at the Lightbox, 1 The Glassworks, Barnsley and at the Branch Library, High Street, Penistone Barnsley during normal business hours.

The Order comes into force on 1st December 2025 but if a person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980 (as amended), or on the ground that any requirement of that Act or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act within six weeks from the date of publication of this notice make an application to the High Court.
