Pontrilas, Temporary Road Closure Due To Barrier Installation Works
What is happening?
Notice of Intention
NOTICE is hereby given that Herefordshire Council, as highway authority, intend, under its relevant powers, to make the following Order: A465 From Prow Footpath Kd3 To Gwent Boundary, Pontrilas, Temporary Road Closure Order, to temporarily prohibit the use by vehicles on the A465 From Prow Footpath Kd3 To Gwent Boundary, Pontrilas, 50 metres eitherside of Llangua bridge. Grid Ref: 339547/226544.
The alternative route for those affected by the proposal is via the A465 onto the B4521, onto the A466, onto the B4348, onto the A465 and vice versa.
The said closure is required due to barrier installation works and the likelihood of danger to the public while the works are taking place. The said closure will come into force on
1st of December 2025 and remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months (unless extended with the consent of the Secretary of State) but the works are expected to be completed over 3 nights (1st, 2nd & 7th December).
