Stroud District, Multiple Temporary Road & Footpath Closures Due To Various Works

What is happening?

GLOUCESTERSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

Temporary Closure C347 Rowcroft (Stroud Parish) Stroud District

Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the C347 Rowcroft Road from its junction with ‘Russell Street’ to its junction with ‘Merrywalks Roundabout’ for a distance of approximately 190 metres.

The reason for the said closure is for Railway Bridge inspection and resulting works.

The said road is expected to be closed from 13th November 2025 to 20th August 2026 or until the works have been completed.

Temporary Closure 407504 Middle Street (Stroud Town And Parish) Stroud District

Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the 407504 Middle Street Road from outside of the property known as No.31 Middle Street to outside of the property known as No.44 Middle Street for a distance of approximately 30 metres.

The reason for the said closure is for Pole replacement works.

The said road is expected to be closed on 14th November 2025 only or until the works have been completed.

The reason for the said closure is for surfacing, lining and signing works.

Temporary Closure 401447 Box Cottage To Halfway House Inn (Minchinhampton Parish) Stroud District

Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the 401447 Box Cottage to Halfway House outside the frontage of the property known as ‘Wally’s Cottage’ for a distance of approximately 30 metres.

The reason for the said closure is to allow access at ‘Wally’s Cottage’ during building works.

The said road is expected to be closed from 10th November 2025 to 28th February 2026 or until the works have been completed. However, if the works are not completed by this date the Order can remain in force for up to eighteen months or until the said works have been completed, whichever is sooner.

Temporary Closure Of Public Footpaths CCA 32, CCA 33 And CCA 34 (Cam Parish) Stroud District

NOTICE is hereby given that Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, has made an Order to close temporarily under Sections 14, 15 and 16 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 (as amended) part of the footpaths as detailed in the Schedule below.

SCHEDULE

Part of Public Footpath CCA 32 from its junction with CCA 28 extending in a generally easterly direction for approximately 120 metres to a point along Public Footpath CCA 28.

Public Footpath CCA 33 from its junction with CCA 28 extending in a generally southeasterly direction for approximately 270 metres to its junction with public footpath CCA 34.

Public Footpath CCA 34 from its junction with CCA 28 extending in a generally southerly direction for approximately 390 metres to its junction with Class 5 public highway Court Farm.

The paths all fall within the Parish of Cam, Stroud District, Gloucestershire.

The closures are necessary to protect the public whilst the construction of a large housing development is undertaken.

The said Public Footpaths are expected to be closed from 25th November 2025 until 25th May 2026 where appropriate signs and notices giving detail will indicate whether the said closures are in force. Further advance warnings of dates/times will be displayed on site prior to any closure taking effect.

The reason for the said closures is for new broadband connection works.

The said roads are expected to be closed on a rolling programme commencing from 25th November 2025 where the presence of approved signage will indicate whether they are in force. Further advance warnings of dates/times will be displayed on site prior to the said closures taking effect. Some roads will be closed overnight and others during the day. This Order may permit the said closures in any order, or simultaneously as required. It is anticipated that all works will be completed by 26th November 2025, or until the said works have been completed.

Temporary Closure Of Public Footpath MST 2 (Stonehouse Town) Stroud District

NOTICE is hereby given that the Secretary of State for Transport has further extended the Order to close temporarily under Sections 14, 15 and 16 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 (as amended) part of Public Footpath MST 2 in a generally westerly and northerly direction for approximately 100 metres.

The Public Footpath falls within the town of Stonehouse in the Stroud District, Gloucestershire.

The closure is necessary to safeguard the public whilst construction works take place.

The Public Footpath was originally closed by Emergency Notice, commencing 8th April 2024 and extended for a further 21 days before an Order was made. The Order was made on 14th May 2024 effective from the 20th May 2024 and subsequently extended until 20th November 2025. As the works will not complete by then the Secretary of State has further granted an extension until 20th May 2027 or until the works are complete, whichever is earliest.

NOTICE is hereby given that Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, intends to make an Order to close temporarily under Sections 14, 15 and 16 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 (as amended) part of the footpaths as detailed in the Schedule below.

SCHEDULE

Part of Public Footpath MCH 116 from its junction with the A419 extending in a generally north easterly direction for approximately 140 metres to its junction with Public Footpath MCH 113.

Part of Public Footpath MCH 116 from its junction MCH 114 extending in a generally easterly direction for approximately 280 metres to its junction with Marley Lane.

The paths fall within the Parish of Chalford, Stroud District, Gloucestershire.

The closure is necessary to protect the public whilst tree works are undertaken.

The said Public Footpaths are expected to be closed on a rolling programme from 17th November 2025 until 28th February 2026 where the presence of approved signage will indicate whether the said closures are in force. Further advance warnings of dates/times will be displayed on site prior to any closure taking effect.

Emergency access and pedestrian access to adjoining properties will be maintained.
