A1 Trunk Road, Wittering Peterborough - Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)(B)
THE A1 TRUNK ROAD (WITTERING, CITY OF PETERBOROUGH) (GAP CLOSURE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited(a) has made an Order on the A1 Trunk Road in the City of Peterborough for public safety reasons.
The effect of the Order will be to close the gap in the central reservation of the A1 situated opposite its junction with Townsend Road, Wittering between
7am and 7pm on any Saturday or Sunday starting on or after Saturday 15 November 2025.
Traffic will be diverted to continue southbound to exit at A1/A47 Wansford Interchange to join the A1 northbound back to Wittering and continue
their journey.
The gap closure (which will not apply to works, winter maintenance, emergency service or traffic officer vehicles) and diversion route will be
clearly indicated by traffic signs.
The Order will come into force on 15 November 2025 and will continue in force until the likelihood of danger has been avoided by means other than this Order, or for a maximum duration of eighteen months, whichever is the earlier.
