Sandwell Borough: Tipton, West Bromwich - Temporary Road Closure

What is happening?

SANDWELL METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL

The Borough Council of Sandwell (Sedgley Road East, Tipton)
(Temporary Road Closure) Order 2025
intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Sedgley Road East from the junction of Mayfair Gardens (eastern side) to the access road (western side) for the Sacred Heart Primary School. Access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits. Traffic will be diverted via Park Lane West, Owen Street, Alexandra Road, Horseley Road, New Road, Horseley Heath, Dudley Port & vice versa. A further local traffic diversion route will be signed via Mayfair Gardens, Victoria Road, Coneygre Road & vice versa. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to be completed by 22/11/2025, effective from 17/11/2025 (7pm - 5am each evening/morning). Purpose – to facilitate access for stairs and platform installation by Midland Metro Alliance.

The Borough Council of Sandwell (Gladstone Street, West Bromwich)
(Temporary Road Closure) Order 2025
intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Gladstone Street, which will be closed between the gable end of property No.102 and the dividing line of property Nos. 143/145. Access to affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits. Traffic will be diverted via Church Lane, Small Street, Greswold Street & vice versa. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to commence and be completed by 17/11/25 (8am - 4pm). Purpose – to facilitate access to replace a defective manhole frame and cover by Customer Solutions Plus on behalf of Severn Trent Water.

The Borough Council of Sandwell (Barnfield Road, Tipton)
(Temporary Road Closure) Order 2025
intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Barnfield Road, which will be closed from the junction of Bloomfield Road for 75 metres. Access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits. Traffic will be diverted via Bloomfield Road, Brook Street & vice versa. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to be completed by 20/11/2025, effective from 17/11/2025 (24hr). Purpose – to facilitate access to install a new water service connection by Onsite on behalf of South Staffs Water.
