What is happening?

Part of Eighth Avenue, Bridlington
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any person from causing any vehicle to proceed/proceeding along part of Eighth Avenue, Bridlington from its junction with Limekiln Lane to property no: 143 commencing 24 November 2025 between the hours of 19:00 until 23:00. The reason for the closure is to enable the proposed part of Eighth Avenue, Bridlington replacing manhole cover and frame works, to be carried out and completed in a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of the public. It is anticipated that the works will be completed within 4 hours. The alternative route for traffic affected by the Order is via: Limekiln Lane, Sewerby Road, B1254 Sewerby Road roundabout, B1254 Fortyfoot, B1254 Flamborough Road, Eighth Avenue, Bridlington CP, Bridlington Central and Old Town Ward, Bridlington South Ward, Bridlington North Ward The road will be closed to all through traffic, but access will be maintained for residents, emergency vehicles and pedestrians. The Order will commence on 24 November 2025 and continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
