Medway, Multiple Temporary Traffic Regulation Notices

What is happening?

ERESBOROUGH ROAD, RAINHAM (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) (NO.2) ORDER 2025

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council have made an order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to replace a  decayed telegraph pole

Meresborough Road, Rainham - to be closed to all vehicular traffic from outside Pope Cottage for 100 metres in a southerly direction. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via Meresborough Lane, Yaugher Lane, Matts Hill Lane and Meresborough Road in both directions.

This order will come into force on Wednesday, 12 November, 2025 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on or after Wednesday, 12 November, 2025 and are programmed for completion within 2 days. The order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

EDWIN ROAD, RAINHAM (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council have made an order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable to enable water supply works to be carried out

Edwin Road, Rainham - to be closed to all vehicular traffic across the frontage of 18A Edwin Road, Rainham. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via Edwin Road, Marshall Road, London Road and Edwin Road in both directions.

This order will come into force on Wednesday, 12 November 2025 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on or after Wednesday, 12 November 2025 and are programmed for completion within 3 days. The order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

BURNT OAK TERRACE, GILLINGHAM (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable an electrical service connection to be carried out

Burnt Oak Terrace, Gillingham - to be closed to all vehicular traffic across the frontage of 86 Burnt Oak Terrace. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via Kingswood Road, Railway Street, High Street, King Street, Jeffery Street, Gardiner Street, Burnt Oak Terrace, Victoria Street and Railway Street in both directions.

This order will come into force on 9 December 2025, and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on or after 9 December 2025 and are programmed for completion within four days. The order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

VARIOUS AREAS (WAITING RESTRICTIONS) (AMENDMENT NO.16) ORDER 2025

NOTICE OF PROPOSAL

Bush Road, Rochester Road, Stanford Way, Woodhurst Close, May Street (Cuxton), Merryboys Road, Cooling Common (Cliffe Woods), Galleon Way (Lower Upnor) Butler’s Park Way (Strood), Howlsmere Close (Halling)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Medway Council proposes to make the above-mentioned order under sections 1, 2, 4 and 124 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended. The general effect of the Amendment order will be to introduce lengths of No Waiting (double yellow lines unless stated otherwise) in roads as below. Lengths are indicative:

1) Bush Road, Cuxton – North side, 14.7m eastwards from Stanford Way junction;

2)  Butler’s Park Way, Strood – (a) Both sides, 8.4m north-westwards from Sealand Drive, (b) South-east side (i) 34.4m north-eastwards from Sealand Drive, (ii) 24.9m extension south-westwards opposite Riley’s Park Drive;

3)  Galleon Way, Lower Upnor – (a) South-east side, 30.5m on the bend by No.19, (b) South-west side, 19.9m on the bend by No.7, (c) North, North-east and North-west sides, 91.9m north-westwards from No.20, on the bends;

4)  Howlsmere Close, Halling – North side, a 10m extension of the existing restriction eastwards from High Street, west of No.1;

5)  May Street, Cuxton – (a) West side, 15.6m northwards from Woodhurst Cl junction, adjacent No.25, (b) East side, 16.1m northwards from Woodhurst Cl junction, from outside No.38;

6)  Merryboys Rd / Cooling Common, Cliffe Woods – South side, extend the existing restriction east of Berry Wood Close eastwards for 54.4m (up to the west side of Merry Boys House);

7)  Rochester Road, Cuxton – (a) North-west side, 97.2m north-eastwards from opposite No.27’s southwestern property boundary, past the junction for the church and hall, to a point opposite No.15; (b) South-east side, 98.4m north-eastwards to a point just past No.15’s driveway;

8)  Stanford Way, Cuxton – (a) North-east side, 13.1m north-westwards from Bush Rd junction, (b) Northwest side, 15.6m on the bend by No.7, (c) South-east side, 16m on the bend in front of the access to Hollycroft, from No.14’s dropped kerb up to a point outside No.28;

9)  Woodhurst Close, Cuxton – (a) North-west side, 9.2m north-westwards from May Street junction on the bend by No.25, (b) South-east side, 15.1m north-westwards from May Street junction on the bend from No.36.

Copies of the order, plans and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the order can be inspected at Medway Council, Gun Wharf, Dock Road, Chatham, ME4 4TR during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive except for bank and public holidays. Electronic copies of the documents can be requested by sending an email to TROconsult@medway.gov.uk on the understanding that requests may take up to five working days to be completed.

Any objections or other representations about the proposed order should be sent in writing by email to TROconsult@medway.gov.uk or by post to Parking Design Team at the address specified in the paragraph above by Friday, 28 November 2025 stating name, address and grounds for objection or support.
