London Road, Installation of a Zebra Pedestrian Crossing

What is happening?

SOUTHEND-ON-SEA CITY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Southend-on-Sea City Council gives notice that it proposes to install a Zebra Pedestrian Crossing under section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) at the following location:

London Road (A13) – Outside No.720, which will have a maximum height of between 60–100mm and ramp gradients of 1:20; with a flat top length of 4m and a width of approx. 2.8m.

A copy of the Notice and designs/plans showing the affected roads may be inspected:

  • on the Council’s website at: https://www.southend.gov.uk/tro

  • at the Civic Centre Reception (address below) during normal office hours.

The public consultation period will be live from 05 November 2025 until 26 November 2025.

Any comments to the proposals, together with the grounds on which they are made, must no later than 26 November 2025, including reference PT01169 – Zebra Pedestrian Crossing – London Road A13, be sent:

  • to TraffWeb@southend.gov.uk (via email), or;

  • in writing to the Traffic Management Team and/or the Project Delivery Team (Infrastructure and Environment) at the address below.

All written representations received concerning Traffic Orders are public documents that may be inspected by any person on demand.
