What is happening?

NOTICE OF MAKING AN ORDER HIGHWAYS ACT 1980 WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981 HAMPSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
THE HAMPSHIRE (HAVANT BOROUGH NO.6) (PART OF HAVANT FOOTPATH NO.49)
PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER 2025 AND HIGHWAYS ACT 1980 THE HAMPSHIRE (HAVANT BOROUGH NO.7)
PUBLIC PATH CREATION AND DEFINITIVE MAP MODIFICATION ORDER 2025

The above-named Orders will: - Create a public footpath commencing at a junction with Havant Footpath 45 and proceeding in a northerly direction to join Havant Footpath 49, and: Divert part of Havant Footpath 49 from its current alignment commencing at SU 7111 0520 and proceeding in a south-easterly direction to SU 7115 0513, to a new alignment that brings the route inland on a well-used path running adjacent to the original line. Part of the route will also be diverted from its original alignment commencing at SU 7116 0511 proceeding in a south-easterly direction to a junction with Havant Footpath 51, to a new alignment commencing at SU 7116 0511 and proceeding in an east to north-easterly direction over a boardwalk crossing a salt marsh, and continuing south-eastwards and southwards to a junction with Havant Footpath 51 at SU 7136 0515.
A copy of the Orders and the Order maps have been placed and may be seen free of charge at the offices of Hampshire County Council, The Castle, Winchester, SO23 8UD and at the offices of Havant Borough Council, Public Service Plaza, Civic Centre Road, Havant, PO9 2AX; or online at www.hants.gov.uk/publicnotices. Copies of the Orders and the maps can be provided on request.
Any representations about or objections to the Order may be sent in writing to the Head of Countryside Access, Universal Services, Hampshire County Council, The Castle, Winchester, SO23 8UD or via e-mail to row.notices@hants.gov.uk quoting reference:- PPO 5257 Havant Footpath 49 diversion or PPO 5262 Havant creation no later than 05 December 2025.
Please state the grounds on which they are made. The personal data you provide in any representation will be treated in accordance with Data Protection Legislation, and may be published in a decision report, be disclosed to other interested parties, including the landowner (or their representatives). It may also be made public if the matter is referred to the Planning Inspectorate.
Your data will be retained for a maximum period of 3 years from the date that the application is resolved. The legal basis for our use of this information is the compliance with a legal obligation – Highways Act 1980. You have some legal rights in respect of the personal information we collect from you.

If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, Hampshire County Council may confirm the Order as an unopposed order. If the Order is sent to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for confirmation any representations and objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the Order.
