Main Road, Melbourne - Temporary Traffic Regulation

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
PART OF MAIN ROAD, MELBOURNE
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF
THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order
the effect of which is to prohibit any person from
causing any vehicle to proceed/proceeding on foot/
whether on foot, pedal cycle or on horseback along
Main Road, Melbourne.
The reason for the closure is to enable the proposed
Part of Main Road, Melbourne works, to be carried out
and completed in a manner consistent with ensuring
the safety of the public. It is anticipated that the works
will be completed within one day.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the
Order is via Fog Lane, Long Rampart, Hankins Lane,
Long Lane, Main Road, Tanner Lane, Foggathorpe CP,
Cottingwith CP, Ellerton CP, Howdenshire Ward, Wolds
Weighton Ward.
The road will be closed to all through traffic but
remain open at all times to pedestrians and for
vehicular access to properties directly affected by the
closure and for emergency services.
The Order will commence on 7 November 2025
between the hours of 8.00 until 18.00, and continue in
force for a period not exceeding 18 months or until
the works which it is proposed to carry out have been
completed, whichever is the earlier.
