What is happening?

The Council of the City of Salford intends to make in no less than 7 days under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984: SALFORD CITY COUNCIL (BARTON LANE) TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025.
The Order will introduce a road closure on Barton Lane, between the junctions of Barton Road and Trafford Road, Eccles, M30 0HY. The Order is necessary to clear and survey blocked surface water drains in the carriageway.
The order is due to come into operation on Monday 12th January 2026 and will last for a period of 18 months or until the works are completed if earlier. The works are expected to be completed by Monday 19th January 2026.

The diversion routes are via: B5211 Barton Road - A57 Liverpool Road - Church Street - A57 Irwell Place - A57 Bentcliffe Way.

A57 Corporation Road - Church Street - A57 Liverpool Road - B5211 Barton Road.
Barton Road Swing Bridge - B5211 Redclyffe Road - B5214 Ashbourne Road West - Guiness Road - A576 Centenary Way - A576 Gilda Brook Road - A57 Bentcliffe Way.
