A83, Tarbert and Inveraray - Temporary 20mph Speed Restrictions for Road Safety

THE A83 TRUNK ROAD (TARBERT) (TEMPORARY 20MPH SPEED RESTRICTION) ORDER 2025

THE SCOTTISH MINISTERS give notice that they have made the above Order under sections 2(1), 4(1) and 14(1)(b) and (4) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, which will impose a temporary 20mph speed restriction on that length of the A83 Tarbert – Lochgilphead – Campbeltown Trunk Road at Tarbert from a point 22 metres or thereby north of the extended centre line of the junction with Lady Ileene Road to a point 18 metres or thereby west of the extended centre line of the junction with Baron Road, a distance of 984 metres or thereby.

The Order, which is required in the interest of road safety, will be in operation from 7th November 2025 until 7th May 2027 and will only have effect in relation to such part or parts of the length of road as is indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

The Order does not apply to vehicles falling within regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those Regulations, or vehicles being used in an emergency for coastguard purposes.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES

An alternative route is not required.

THE SCOTTISH MINISTERS give notice that they have made the above Order under sections 2(1), 4(1) and 14(1)(b) and (4) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, which will impose a temporary 20mph speed restriction on that length of the A83 Tarbet – Lochgilphead – Campbeltown Trunk Road at Inveraray from a point 83 metres or thereby north of the extended centre line of the junction with A819 to a point 30 metres or thereby south of the extended centre line of the junction with Barn Brae, a distance of 953 metres or thereby.

The Order, which is required in the interest of road safety, will be in operation from 7th November 2025 until 7th May 2027 and will only have effect in relation to such part or parts of the length of road as is indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.
