(WAITING, LOADING, STOPPING AND PARKING PLACES) (MAP BASED) (NO.27 BEAUFORT STREET – DISABLED BAY) AMENDMENT NO.* ORDER 2025,

(WAITING, LOADING, STOPPING AND PARKING PLACES) (MAP BASED) (PROGRESS ROAD) AMENDMENT NO.* ORDER 2025

Southend-on-Sea City Council (hereinafter referred to as “the Council”) in exercise of its powers under Sections 1, 2, 4 and 122 under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) (“the 1984 Act”) and the Traffic Management Act 2004 (“the 2004 Act”) and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the 1984 Act, hereby give notice that it intends to make the following Amendment Orders:

• The Southend-on-Sea City Council (Waiting, Loading, Stopping and Parking Places) (Map-Based) (Hamlet Court Road – Loading Bays) Amendment No.* Order 2025

• The Southend-on-Sea City Council (Waiting, Loading, Stopping and Parking Places) (Map-Based) (No.27 Beaufort Street – Disabled Bay) Amendment No.* Order 2025

• The Southend-on-Sea City Council (Waiting, Loading, Stopping and Parking Places) (Map-Based) (Progress Road) Amendment No.* Order 2025

The effect of the Traffic Regulation Orders (TROs) would be as follows:

PTO1176 – Hamlet Court Road – Loading Bays

On the west side of Hamlet Court Road, it is proposed to remove the bus stop outside No.171–177, replacing this with a Loading Only bay, limited to 30 minutes, with no return within 2 hours, operating between the hours of 8am–6pm.

On the east side of Hamlet Court Road, it is proposed to remove the bus stop outside No.162–168 and replace it with a Loading Only bay, limited to 30 minutes, with no return within 2 hours, operating between 8am–6pm.

PTO1274 – No.27 Beaufort Street – Disabled Parking Bay
To introduce a disabled parking bay outside No.27 Beaufort Street.

PTO1297 – Progress Road

• The 10 metre (m) taxi rank outside No.60 Progress Road is proposed to be revoked and replaced with 10m of No Waiting at Any Time (double yellow lines).

• The 12m taxi rank outside No.60 Progress Road is proposed to be revoked and replaced with 12m of No Waiting at Any Time.

• To introduce 6m of No Waiting at Any Time outside No.60 Progress Road.

• The proposal is to revoke 10m of No Waiting at Any Time adjacent to No.1 Brunel Road, replacing this with a 10m taxi rank.

• The proposal is to revoke 12m of No Waiting at Any Time opposite No.55 Progress Road, replacing this with a 12m taxi rank.

  Copies of the Notice of Intent (NOI), proposed draft Amendment Orders, the Statement of Reasons for proposing to make the Orders and designs showing the proposals can be inspected:

  The public consultation period will be live from 3rd November 2025 until 24th November 2025.
