(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025

The Scottish Borders Council (Peebles Fireworks Event) (Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2025 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force at 13:00 on 8 November 2025 and is expected to remain in effect until 20:30. The Order is required in the interests of public safety to:

(a) Kingsmeadows Road forming part of the fallout area for the fireworks event; and

(b) additional traffic attending the fireworks event taking place in Victoria Park, Peebles.

When the Order comes into effect, in the interests of public safety, in Peebles:

(a) no person shall drive, or cause, or permit to be driven any vehicle along Kingsmeadows Road from Glensax Road to number 14 Kingsmeadows Road between the hours of 19:00 and 20:30. The closure will come into effect only at such times as instructed by a police officer in uniform. The alternative route for eastbound traffic is via Kingsmeadows Road, Springhill Road, Glen Road and Glenask Road to the point of closure, for westbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing; and

(b) no person shall permit any vehicle to wait or to be parked on the following roads between the hours of 13:00 and 20:30:

(i) Kingsmeadows Road — from Glensax Road to number14 Kingsmeadows Road

(ii) Caledonian Road — from Frankscroft to Kingsmeadows Road

(iii) Springhill Road — from Kingsmeadows Road to Glensax Road

(iv) Glensax Road — from Springhill Road to Kingsmeadows Road

(v) Tweed Bridge — from Port Brae to Kingsmeadows Road

Pedestrian access will be maintained.
