Little Common Road, Bexhill-On-Sea & A259 Trunk Road, Rye - Temporary Traffic Restrictions
What is happening?
A259 TRUNK ROAD (LITTLE COMMON ROAD, BEXHILL-ON-SEA)
REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY PROCESSION
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that National Highways Limited has made an Order on the A259 Trunk Road in the County of East Sussex, under Section 16A(2)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because an event is proposed to be executed on the road.
The effect of the Order is to authorise the closure of: -
1. Little Common Roundabout (B2182);
2. all of the side roads at junction with the roundabout; and
3. both carriageways of the A259 between the roundabout and Green Lane approximately 150 metres east.
These measures are in the interests of road safety while the British Legion Remembrance Sunday March and Act of Worship is held.
It is expected that the event will last for approximately 1 hour starting on Sunday 9th November 2025. There will be one closure between approximately 10:30 and 11:00, with up to 3 hours permitted by the order ( maximum period ).
The Order will come into force on 8th November 2025 and have a maximum duration of three days.
No diversion is proposed. Traffic will be held until safe to release.
The temporary closures will be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the event period.

A259 TRUNK ROAD – (RYE BONFIRE PAGEANT)
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that National Highways Limited has made an Order on the A259 Trunk Road in the County of East Sussex, under Section 16A(2)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because an event is proposed to be held on the road. The effect of the Order is to authorise: -
the closure of the A259 between a point 2 metres west of the Kettle o’Fish Roundabout (A268) and a point 5 metres west of the centreline of the Junction with Camber Road, and any side road at junction with this length of carriageway; and
the prohibition of vehicles from waiting on the above lengths of carriageway.
These measures are in the interests of road safety while the Rye Bonfire Pageant is held.
It is expected that the event will last for approximately 3 hours on the evening of Saturday 15th November 2025. The closures will take place between 18:30 and 21:30 (maximum period).
The Order will come into force on 14th November 2024 and have a maximum duration of 3 days.
No diversion is proposed. Traffic will be held until it is safe to release.
The road closures and waiting restrictions will be clearly indicated by traffic signs and police officers when they are in operation during the event period.
