TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDERS 2025 (NORWICH)

Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984

Norfolk County Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, hereby give notice that:

i) THEY PROPOSE TO MAKE Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders in respect of the following roads:

GOLDEN DOG LANE FOOTPATH – from its junction with Golden Dog Lane to its junction with Magdalen Street to facilitate Norfolk County Council meter exchange works between 08:00 and 16:00 on the 12th November 2025 (may continue until 24th December 2025). Alternative route is via: Magdalen Street, Calvert Street Shared Use Cycle Link In Front Of Stannard Place To Magdalen Street, Calvert Street, Golden Dog Lane and vice versa. The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

RIVERSIDE WALK 16 FOOTPATH – 1) Riverside Walk 16 from its junction with Coslany Street to its junction with St Crispins Road and 2) New Mills Yard footway from its junction with The Moorings for 25m south westwards to facilitate repairs of the New Mills Yard bridge from 10th November 2025 to 2nd January 2026 (may continue until 9th May 2026). Alternative route is via: St Crispins Road, Oak Street, Coslany Street and vice versa. The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

ii) THEY HAVE MADE Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders in respect of the following roads:

SOUTH PARK AVENUE – from 90m northeast of its junction with Buckingham Road for 25m north eastwards to facilitate installation and cabling works from 2nd to 6th November 2025 (may continue until 18th December 2025). Alternative route is via: South Park Avenue, Colman Road, North Park Avenue, Bluebell Road. The works promoter is Vodafone.

HELLESDON MILL LANE – from 90m west of its junction with Hellesdon Road for 20m westwards to facilitate duct and replacement works from 4th to 7th November 2025 (may continue until 19th December 2025). Alternative route is via Hellesdon Mill Lane, Hellesdon Road and vice versa. The works promoter is Anglian Water.

PRINCE OF WALES ROAD – from 50m northwest of its junction with Cathedral Street for 25m north westwards to facilitate new electrical service works, traffic (constituting any class of vehicle) over the Road shall be temporarily prohibited to park, stop, load, and/or unload from 3rd to 7th November 2025 (may continue until 19th December 2025). Alternative route is via: St Crispins Road, Oak Street. The works promoter is: UK Power Networks.

NETHERWOOD GREEN FOOTPATH – from 14m southeast of its junction with Netherwood Green for 10m south eastwards to facilitate new water connection works from 5th to 7th November 2025 (may continue until 19th December 2025). Alternative route is via: the Netherwood Green Footpath From Rear Of 99 To West Side Of 50, Netherwood Green Footpath From West Side Of 99 To North Side Of 105, Netherwood Green and vice versa.

KOBLENZ AVENUE, ALBION ROAD & CANARY WAY

1. Koblenz Avenue from its junction with Albion Way to its junction with Canary Way and

2. Koblenz Avenue from its junction with Albion Way to its junction with Wherry Road and

3. Albion Way from its junction with Koblenz Avenue for 187m south westwards and

4. Canary Way from its junction with Koblenz Avenue to its junction with Clarence Road to facilitate traffic signal upgrades and resurfacing works from 2nd to 24th November 2025 (may continue until 3rd January 2026). Alternative route is via: 1) 2) Koblenz Avenue, Riverside Road, Bishop Bridge Road, Ketts Hill, Barrack Street, St Crispins Road, Barn Road, Grapes Hill, Chapel Field Road, St Stephens Roundabout, Queens Road, Bull Lane, Bracondale, King Street, Carrow Road, etc steps. 3) Albion Way, Wherry Road, Koblenz Avenue, Riverside Road, Bishop Bridge Road, Ketts Hill, Barrack Street, St Crispins Road, Barn Road, Grapes Hill, Chapel Field Road, St Stephens Roundabout, Queens Road, Bull Lane, Bracondale, King Street, Carrow Road and vice versa.

5. Clarence Road, Thorpe Road, Yarmouth Road, Ringroad, St Williams Way, Heartsease Lane, Mousehold Lane, Chartwell Road, Sprowston Road, Magdalen Road, Bull Close Road, Charlton Road, Barrack Street, Bishop Bridge Road, Riverside Road, Riverside and vice versa (Norwich, Thorpe St Andrew). The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

NB: Please note that these roads are anticipated to be closed during the following dates and times:

    • Road 1 will be closed between 16:30 and 05:30 on the 2nd, 9th and 16th November.

    • Road 2 will be closed between 00:00 and 05:30 on 14th and 15th November.

  • Roads 2, 3 and 4 will be closed between 19:00 and 05:30 from 3rd to 22nd November (Monday to Friday only).

WENSUM STREET – from 40m north of its junction with Elm Hill for 10m northwards to facilitate washout and tee installation works from 2nd to 9th November 2025 (may continue until 21st December 2025). Alternative route is via: Fry Bridge Street, Fishergate, Wifergate, Bull Close Road, Palace Street, Wensum Street. The works promoter is Anglian Water.

Unless otherwise stated, the effect of these Orders will be to prohibit the use by vehicles of the named road(s)/footpath(s). In the event of the start date being delayed the new start date will be displayed on site in advance. The Order is a legal document for public works it is because of the likelihood of danger to the public or of serious damage to the road/footpath. Anticipated dates are stated but the Orders may continue until the end date where necessary or required. The Orders are revoked on completion of the works or the actual date of removal of the restriction if earlier. Pedestrian access will be maintained where possible. If necessary, vehicular access will be maintained for emergency services and bus services. In the event of footpaths, cycle paths, bridleways, byways and restricted byways open to all traffic (BOAT).

Penalty: £1000 maximum fine on conviction and/or endorsement for contravention.
