EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

The East Sussex (Public Footpath Hailsham 46a)

(Temporary Footpath Closure) Order 2023

To protect public safety during the construction of a housing development, the Secretary of State has extended the above East Sussex County Council’s Order made on 27 October 2023 under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following footpath:

Temporary Footpath Closure

The whole of Public Footpath Hailsham 46a will be closed to all users between TQ 5936 0875 (Station Road) and TQ 5940 0800 (junction with public footpaths Hailsham 46b and Hailsham 47). Unfortunately, no alternative route is available.

The closure will be in force for 18 months from 3 November 2025 or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier, which after this period will require an extension from the Secretary of State, should the footpath still be unavailable to use.

The East Sussex (U2071 Greenway,

Eastbourne)(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic and Suspension of One-Way Traffic) Order 2025

To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984,

as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Greenway – for its entire length.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U2071 Greenway, Avard Crescent and vice versa.

To maintain access a suspension of one-way traffic will be in place (revert to two-way traffic) on Greenway during these works.

The Order commences 6 November 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 6 and 7 November 2025 depending upon the weather conditions. If you require further information telephone Network Management on 0345 60 80 193.

The East Sussex (U2254 Jordans Lane West, Eastbourne)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Jordans Lane West – from the junction with U7950 The Freshway to no. 12.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.

The Order commences 17 November 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 17 and 26 November 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (A259 Upperton Road, Eastbourne)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Upperton Road – from the junction with A259 Station roundabout to the junction with A2040 The Avenue.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A259 Station roundabout, Terminus Road, Ashford Road, Susans Road, Seaside Road, Seaside – A2021 Whitley Road, Bedfordwell Road – A2040 Upper Avenue, Upper Avenue roundabout, Upper Avenue, The Avenue – A259 Station Parade, Station roundabout.

The Order commences 14 November 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 20:00hrs to 06:00hrs on 14 and 15 November 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U2236 Brassey Avenue/Mountfield Road, Eastbourne)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow Network Rail to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Brassey Avenue/Mountfield Road – from the junction with U2237 Station Approach to the junction with U2227 Brampton Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U2236 Mountfield Road – U2231 Mountfield roundabout – U2226 Lottbridge Drove, Marshall roundabout, Lottbridge Drove – A22 Lottbridge roundabout – A2280 Cross Levels Way, Broadwater roundabout, Cross Levels Way, Upperton Farm roundabout, Cross Levels Way – A2021 Rodmill roundabout, Kings Drive – U2236 Decoy Drive, Nevill Avenue, Brassey Avenue and vice versa.

The Order commences 16 November 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 00:30hrs on 16 November to 04:00hrs on 17 November 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (B2191 Eastbourne Road, Westham)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025 No.2

To allow Network Rail to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Eastbourne Road – from the junction with U7736 Montague Way to the junction with U7738 Pelham Close.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2191 Eastbourne Road – C712 Rattle Road – B2104 Lion Hill, Friday Street, Willingdon roundabout, Friday Street, Hide Hollow roundabout – B2191 Hide Hollow, Priory roundabout and vice versa.

The Order commences 16 November 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken as detailed below depending upon the weather conditions. From 00:00hrs on 16 November to 05:00hrs on 17 November 2025

From 00:00hrs on 8 February 2026 to 05:00hrs on 9 February 2026

From 00:00hrs on 3 April 2026 to 05:00hrs on 6 April 2026
